I would like to request that transporting contraband is making much more profit.
The profit is way too low, i think it should be x10!
You hardly see any pirate transports transporting these goods.
It would even be much more fun for police, so they have something to check.
I find myself transporting VIP's and so with a Slave liner, witch is lame.
Cardamine yust dont make a lot and thats unrealistic i think.
Since in these times, we can stalk people with TSLAGSNET making it night impossible to make a fast buck. Smuggling has died out, just look at cardamine-slave trade. Only ones still doing it is those who get paid for it, or those who were gonna smuggle it out of old habit/character RP.
As said a million times before, yes please. Smugglers are even better than traders, cos pirates can pirate them, and police can arrest them. So they generate 2X activity! However. 10X as much profit is far too much. I say make smuggling about 2X as profitable as normal trading, in creds/time. Maybe 3X as smugglers have to use smaller ships generally.

First - smartasses making power smuggle runs early in the morning, when there are like 40-50 people playing.
Second - lolwuts on 5'kers smuggling anything anywhere with any ID "coz 'ts PROFITABLE"
Third - today smuggling is less dangerous than regular trading - pirates are usually sitting on "bottlenecks", lawfuls sitting on a jumpholes are endangered species.
Fourth - smuggling is way much more fun.
So, I think that x3 and especially x10 wouldn't bring us anything good, but prices on some trade items, like cardamine, should be revised. Counterfeit software runs are WAY shorter and safer and profit is the same, but all this are up to balance team.
I approve of this, Cardamine is a highly sought after drug in liberty, it should be a lot more expensive on some of the planets (Manhattan). As a result, some of the other illegal goods should also get a boost in profit.
Most of the Cardi Haulers now do it for the RP, which is usually "omg cardamine die" or "Hey need escort)))" caliber.
Edit: However, Im not proposing a huge spike in prices, but just a little bump to put it at the same caliber as some other stuff.
Also, I would think that Counterfeit Software would be even harder to come by on Manhattan, due to the Tradelane Network being maintained (Think Government restricting Torrents iRL) so they have to get planetside for distribution.

But the Smugler ID should be neutral too (almost) all,
otherwise you cant deliver everywhere.
And that the only ones that can transport contraband are;
Smuglers, Pirates and Unlawfull's. (But i'm not shure if thats possible to implement).
At the moment the Junker ID is the best Smugler ID.
I used to smuggle allot. Smuggling should be more profitable than legal trading. However, if this isn't balanced with significant downsides you'll have everyone and his dog smuggling, and no-one doing legal routes. The thing that should really balance the profitability of smuggling is RISK.
A few years ago I proposed an arbitrary number of credits (say $1500) be added to the value of contraband commodities at every relevant base (ie, buying points and profitable selling points). This would have no effect on profitability, but would massively up the stakes. When you buy a hold full of artefacts or cardimine you'd be investing a massive amount of credits, that could all be lost if your smuggling run is unsuccessful. Balance that with a small increase in profitability relative to non-contraband trading, and you have yourself a realistic risk vs. profit balancing system. Only the least risk-averse traders would entertain the notion of smuggling, while those who choose to take the gamble and are skilled would enjoy an advantage in profitability.
example; Running 500 cardimine from Malta to Manhattan.
NOW: buy for $199,500. Sell for $1,761,000. Profit= $1,561,500 or -$199,500. Risk NEGLIGABLE.
ADD RISK (extra $1500 per unit): buy for $949,500. Sell for $2,511,000. Profit= $1,561,500 or -$949,500 Risk SIGNIFICANT. SAME PROFIT.
Then...add a bit of extra profit relative to equivalent trading with legal goods.
