I've generally stick to the RP of only a few characters in the factions I've come to so far. If you were to pass on some of your ships, it'd be a great motivator to branch out and bring some variety to myself and hopefully the server at large.
Alternatively, a lump sum would be a great help to one or more of the factions I am in, or possibly one I'd create at some point...

Because I'm gathering cash to build a base, and have the perfect plan for making all the money I could ever need by using the base. Once cash rolls in from that, I'll mostly use the money to help friends and new players fund themselves. I know how much of a hassle it is to trade, so if I can help my friends not have to do that, that would be superb.

You could just as easily make an inverse argument that because someone already has the ship they want, they're more likely to play rather than being discouraged by the effort required to grind cash for it.

IMO trading, for the most part, is just a long and tedious step you must take before you get to the part you actually want to be doing.

Well, I'm back to Freelancer and I could use some money. cuz I'm really poor and I hate mining helium in penny. I'm aiming to start a new faction so any ammount could help
