2.1 Following actions are considered cheating on server:
- Using non-Discovery mods, speed-related and loot-related mods especially, as well as using modifications that improve stats of items and ships;
- Changing account information and using any kinds of software that changes normal gameplay;
- Using any equipment not included for sale/looting in Discovery mod.
- Using equipment that exceeds ship specs;
- Cloning, e.g. creating new characters to collect starting money;
- Single player having more than one instance of Discovery open to fly their own characters;
- "Suicide Trading".
Consequences:
We know that not everyone doing this is aware of it so we are only taking guns. This one was pretty blatant though. We will be posting more about this soon so people will know how to avoid ending up here.
Well the report is over a month old, but no I'm not completely nuts. In fact I'm just the one who wrote this sanction so it could be cleared out. There were other admins that reviewed this. I'll send you the evidence.
We were on a raid, whole server lagged like always ...

These reports had been coming in for a long time before we processed any of them. The admin team spent quite a bit of time trying to replicate this effect to understand exactly what was happening. What we discovered is there is a definite distinction between server lag and something that is done by a user on their end to cause jittering. Once we identified this it became easy to tell the difference in a video. What you are seeing in this video is not server lag.
Now, we know that not everyone is aware of this and that some are not doing this intentionally. We are trying to help people work that out. If you had said that you were unaware of this and not trying to cheat we might have discussed it with you. However since you decided to just come out and call this server lag which we know beyond doubt that this is not, then you have opened the discussion by establishing that you are lying to us.
I know you will want to distract from this issue by calling me a racist or biased in some other way or that you will want to argue that we simply don't know what we are talking about. Anyone who really knows me knows I am about the most anti-racist person you will ever meet and the admin team has literally put hours of work into figuring this issue out and we would not have agreed to start posting sanctions if we were not sure about this.
As the one submitting the report, and most of others aswell, allow me to show the difference between server/player lag and a high FPS rate.
When a player lags, his connection isn't sync'd with others', or it's delayed. Thus, the server can't process your actions in time and you move on straight lanes which lack of sense. You might appear going backwards, sideways, up, down. These jumps can be small or large and they'll usually render crosshair aiming useless (such as when you try to aim on someone who's just F1'd and is drifting away).
However, when a player has got higher FPS rate, his connection is sync'd with others' (it's not if he's also lagging, of course). Thus, all the data is processed in time and other players will look normal to you. The crosshair won't mess up, neither the hitbox will: aiming is as on the average situation. And, indeed, you don't see people jumping around, while you do have "micro" jumps, and it's "micro" because it depends on your amount of FPS. What makes it easily noticiable is that these jumps you perform are on the same direction you're facing, and they're either ahead of back, most of times doing both, one after another. When circling, the jumps are tangential. On engine kill the effect is the same as if you'd be facing the direction you EK on.
