Oh yeah, brace yourself, another bases thread.
Important note - I was not owner of any of these bases. I only know that one belonged to some Zoners, one to GMG and in case of the last two I even don´t know whose property they were.
So, in last few days, some bases like Livadia palace, Torii outpost, Torchwood outpost or Umbris Research Complex were destroyed. You can find by who in comm channel if you want. It was done by few people probably when bases ran out of supplies and they saw their as opportunity to have a fun (they seems to enjoy it).
Now, my question regarding this - is this Cannon´s statement still valid or not?
Quote:As people have asked for clarification:
1) Roleplay agreements made in skype are not valid. Roleplay must happen on the forum or in game for it to exist. This means that people can't use skype chats as evidence of role play agreements or discussions.
2) Roleplay is required before seriously attacking or destroying a base. This should happen on the forum but it is reasonable for it to happen in game if it is part of a conversation with a base owner. This means that if you don't do this you might be in violation of rule 5.2
Because I don´t see on the forum any RP regarding those destroyed bases and I doubt there was any previous RP conversation with base owners... I assume that any "RP" that happened was that bunch of people saw bases out of repairs so they jumped on their cap ships and quickly destroyed them when there was opportunity. And I don´t see bunch of Corsairs destroying for example Zoners base without any previous warning much like RP... But this problem is even bigger than that few cases I mentioned, we all know for example that house lawfuls very often destroy unregistered base and THEN inform the owner about it in comm channel.
So my question especially towards admin team is - is that ^^^^^ valid or not? And if yes, is there possibility to take any actions from admin team (punishing attackers, restoring bases) when someone´s base is destroyed without any previous warning just because someone had an opportunity to do that in that moment?
then there is no violation broken. You link to a page 25 of a topic. Would be rather funny if I would sent in some violation report of something simulair just because its 'hidden' within the forums. As i told now like 100 times. First PoB rules then you can punish people for it.

It's still Cannon's words, so I think it may worth a try.
I have to say though, I agree with Duv, the rules should be added to the official rules list if theyre gonna be enforced, cant expect everyone to have read that post in that topic.
Not that thats stopped the admins from using 1.2 as a catch all for stuff that isnt forbidden by the rules before. Like they did when I loan scammed people.

That is what Cannon is talking about:
Quote:5.2 All attacks must be the result of some form of role play. "Engaging" is not sufficient. An attack is any hostile action that drains shields to less than 50%. Being hit with a CD is not considered an attack. If a player is attacked he has a right to defend himself regardless of who is attacking.
Attacking base without any previous RP can break this one.
My views on it is that if it is a sanctionable offence, then file a sanction report. I haven't seen any for these last few bases, as disagreeable as I find if (inB4 "lol Baseslayer").
(07-01-2013, 10:23 PM)SMGSterlin Wrote: 5.2 says ALL attacks, not just attacks on player ships, I think this easily applies to player bases as well, due to the wording.
And there comes the other issue, due to the wording actions taking down half of the shield are considered attacks. Bases don't have hp bar for their shields.
