If you are willing to travel as far as Allentown, there is a place called "Bake Oven Knob" that has amazing views. Closer to Philly, you are looking for something like Valley Forge Park or Quakertown, there are a ton of places in Quakertown, it's mostly farmland, which makes it great for just driving around and finding a good spot.
Yea, it's fairly bad in the city, though if you have the chance, the Franklin Institute has an amazing telescope that they let people view. Also if you can get toward Quakertown, there isnt too much out there aside from Allentown. Lots of low mountain hiking trails that arent too much that you could go up and view.
