I have been thinking about how many systems we had in Sirius, and how it was clarified by the Devs that it is nearly impossible to decrees the number due to some failures and corruptions the player characters will face.
So after a bit of thinking, an Idea flashed into my head..
I'll make it simple by an example:
We want to remove Omicron Lambda, so....we don't actually remove it, we just adjust the Jump Hole connections(divert them to other systems like: Theta---->Eta , Kappa---->Eta , etc..)
Yes they can. Problem is blind jumping into a system with no exits. I've done that, to a system with no star or planet so I couldn't even suicide to get out.
Why not make all jumpholes in the system one-way only? So you can get out of the system but you can't get in. I think that would solve the problem. The system can be deleted after six months or so.

- Fly into edge of system.
- /selfdestruct (or something like that)

Jumps to specific systems can be blocked, like bastile, new anglia etc. you will just blow up when try to blind jump there,
as for deleting systems... there is easy way to fix everything at once:
1. Remove jumpoholes and blind jump ability to system that is going to be deleted
2. Put one jumphole in blocked system that works only in one direction, only out of system, like we have now jumphole in Uknown system ( that one with Shrine) that leads to Pennsylvania with no way back using that hole.
3. Wait 1-3 months or shorter, and delete/move chars that left in blocked system
4. Send system to trash (or leave empty system with(out) bases if deleting something would still lead to chars corruption, anyway system would be gone from environment)
for example we want to delete Yukon. We change location of Freeport to, lets say, Alberta. We empty Yukon system and create 500k radius radiation field with 9999999999 damage. Once someone who logs here after new mod, he dies and respawns at base(Freeport or other).
That would be an option if the system is clear but there might be ships in that system or even a PoB.
Lets say that the admins might move the ships at the request of the owners, maybe even a PoB but its more work...
