I'd be utterly peeved if something like this happened, especially when you'd need to check the forum and exactly this thread with exactly that quote about Cannon stating that the rollback MIGHT happen.
Makes me wonder if that will happen at all. I and most of the people I still play with avoid the server right now just because there is no reason to dedicate your time on something that will be lost anyway. And I am pretty sure that many newcomers do the same now, waiting for the server rollback to actually start playing.
So...how about less speculation and moderator orange and some admin green instead?
Official info rather than "he said, she said" would be nice, as im now getting bored with this as dont want to dedicate much time as may lose it all

You've hit the nail on the head my friend. exactly. how long do we wait for this mysterious rollback? When do we start to bother putting in effort with our characters knowing it wont all be lost.
"On the subject of a database rollback, it was decided to be put on hold until the beta phase has passed, and once a stable version of the new mod is released we'll be restoring the backups from before the first beta was released, so for the time being, enjoy the free cash, fly around, try out the new version, and have fun."
I still see some people grinding and pileing up money. I think some info about the rollback should be added to the regularly appearing in-game console messages, so no one would be surprised.
It's up to the Admins to change/update the server's MOTD. The Admins will roll back the player database only once the Devs are happy that the mod is sufficiently stable. A definite date for the rollback is not available at this time.
"Player-owned bases are only online for testing purposes. They are likely to be rolled-back at the same time as the player database."
And according to this, bases (likely) will be rolled back, too.
And yeah, adding the rollback to the periodic console message would make sense. A lot of people still grinding to make money.

I don't think there needs to be, especially after the BetaTestCash restart.
Almost a absolute certainty now that everyone who knows about it has infinte cash until beta is over...
A little unfair that a new players can come along and buy a BS with CAU8 (or whatever is highest) after other players have grinded for weeks/months to pay for it.

but at the end of the beta, Rollback!
then they have to grind away like the rest of us. (though spending a lot of time grinding/powertrading just to get something is good for the server IMHO, but thats a whole nother issue)
