A pleasure to meet you, such as it is. Now, before you disconnect, the Grande Marechal passed your details on to me in reference to a particular operation.
You see, I've been tasked with gathering internal information in Tau-44 to assist Operation Trident. The population has been fairly quiet lately, but I'm not entirely convinced that the stations themselves are ours. Secure? Most certainly, but not ours yet. I'm quite certain you would have more information on that front then I do. However; it's not solely a need for raw information that has me calling out of the blue, so to speak.
As you can likely guess, passing as a Sirian is not a particular talent of mine, despite my best efforts to the contrary. Alone, I would likely be labelled as Gallic before I stepped off the landing ramp, regardless of what I said. You; however, are different. Kusari is close enough to Tau-44 for you not to draw an unusual amount suspicion, and perhaps convince anyone aboard to trust me, by extension. A stranded Council pilot travelling with a smuggler is far more likely then a lone pilot, non?
Please, think it over. I look forward to hearing from you, Capitaine.
Grand Maréchal Xavier told me to expect your transmission. Yoroshiku.
Indeed, Phase One of Trident has already been put into motion, and aspects of the Légion have begun preliminary reconnaissance of Tau-44. As you surmised, all known Colonial assets have been placed under Royal Naval authority, but ONI is certain that elements of the system's forces have been compromised.
Bearing that in mind, your proposal is promising. With proper planning and execution, a successful undercover operation could easily gather enough information on the anti-Royalist cells in Tau-44 to enable Phase Two to proceed swiftly. Posing as a Kusari smuggler or something similar would be no problem at all - just like old times, in fact. Likewise, I imagine your mercenary background will give you some ideas.
If there is one thing I have in abundance, it is ideas. I wouldn't be concerned on that front in the slightest. Still, I'm glad to see that you're willing to try something somewhat unconventional.
If you are able to secure an identity as a smuggler and a ship to back it up, I imagine that would serve quite well. I'll make some arrangements to organise equipment storage on Michaux Research Platform down on Borneo for the duration of our little expedition. The reclaimation teams haven't yet managed to reestablish surveillance networks planet-side yet, so it should serve as a fairly safe base of operations for now. I'll forward a time and place to you over the internal channel. One can never be too safe.
Do bring something warm. Otherwise, I shall look forward to meeting you in person.
