I gotta say... #2 video's an improvement over the first one. The music does capture the desolation of what was once the Order HQ, the solace for lives lost. Well done, but I have to say there were stuff that could've been improved yet:
> Still the same no warpout swoosh mistake from the first video, was really hoping this one would've been fixed. But at the very least you took up my advice for a short silence before the music really played.
> I admired how at the beginning of the video, you devoted short 3-6 second scenes to match with the beats. Indeed, I could really feel the intrigue, the wonder of what the system and the music has in store for me.
> I'd have wanted some ships seen patrolling the system, maybe even one NPC wing at cruise speed head very close to the camera in-time with a heavy beat, and then the next scene the ships are moving away at the same speed.
> Speaking of which, some fighting between NPC's would've been nice, like at a 3-5k distance, just for one scene. Bonus points if one or two ships from any side exploded.
> I'd have also wanted some cruise-speed panoramic views of the system, especially after 0:48 where there was a good three-beat to set the change for a sudden fast pacing. Most of them were either still shots, impulse-speed shots, and impulse-speed panoramic views, which can get boring if that's all there is to it (like you were doing a nature channel, not a real sci-fi movie trailer).
Overall, I can see -some- improvement in the video quality, while a few problems from the first still were there, and some other things that could've been added in. Well done, but not well done -enough- for my taste.
EDIT:
LOL, you know what? Now that I looked a lot closer at the first vid, at 3:06+ there INDEED was -a- ship flying from the left to the right. It was only a fighter, though, and not only was it too small to be noticed without closer inspection, but it quickly disappeared, rather than having exited on the opposite side of the camera. Such a shame...

And it will stay in any following video as well, because -I- like it as an intro and don't see it as a mistake at all. - Yepp the little moment of silence did indeed result out of your feedback. Thanks!

Thanks! Was a pain to cut, but hey.

I almost found no NPCs, other than some LSF patrols. I also decided to go with a more desolate theme, as you noticed. So I felt like putting (EDIT: too many - I didn't even notice the ones you mentioned) NPCs into the video would have kinda countered that thought - too lively.

See above... almost no NPCs and countered the whole theme I was going for imo.

Well, to be fair I never said I would make a trailer(s), but I can see your point as well. Again, speeding up things felt a bit too lively for the desolate theme I was aiming for.
Thanks again for the detailed critique. Some of it will help me to improve and others won't because I simply disagree and/or am going for something different (OR I just forgot about it!).
I had high hopes for Omicron-49... Sad to say, I'm more disappointed than impressed.
> The cutscenes are, quite frankly, near-perfect. There was that hiccup near the start, where there were about to be asteroids, but it's a relatively-minor issue, and wasn't to be bothered over. But overall, I think they're pretty solid, well-done, so I don't have much comment on them. The scene transitions were awesome, felt very seemless, and liked the sun-shots and -explosive-transitions.
> But what I -do- would like to comment very much on is the song choice. Because for almost 4/5'ths of the video, I found the slow-pacing, blandly-calm space music to be boring. Just... boring. It's only at 2:22 was when the music -finally- picked up enough pace to be interesting. I basically almost slept until that point in time came up. I highly suggest you should've went with a violin-orchestra with O-49, something like THIS.
So yeah. While the cutscenes were expertly organized and chosen, the music broke nearly everything apart and made it just-another-vid-to-browse-over.
Challenge for you:
Find a system(s) that will match THIS song. Clue: Kusari also needs some love, you know!
As someone who's currently re-watching BSG for the fourth time, I went crazy upon watching the first vid: YAAAYY BEAR MCCREARY. My favourite soundtrack composer of my favourite scifi show in a vid about my favourite spacesheep game. <333 Perfect for me, extraordinarily well done.

Yupp, I messed up the "swoosh" this time. The sun explosion is my favorite scene by far and was actually unintentionally recorded in the first place - lucky me! Glad you liked the general cutting work. (emo)

Well, now THIS s a funny suggestion after the statement you did one sentence earlier about the song I choose being too boring.
I understand that you might find the song I choose boring - it's a taste thing and you can't argue about taste - BUT - you suggested a Song, which is two minutes longer and has less variations, way less pacing, no upbeat or beat at all and no build up/real climax - all features or rather the lack of features which make a song boring by pure musical definition and not by taste.
Additionally I don't see why I would use a "sad" song for a system described as the Zoner's "New Hope" and which in general has a very holiday/vacation vibe to it... I mean, even the locations are named after popular islands for vacationers.
This time we don't only disagree on -how- to represent a theme a system features, but also on -which- theme actually.

I'm not going to accept the "challenge" for various reasons:
1. I don't like the song.
2. It -sounds- like I could use it for a Gallic system, but has lyrics for a Kusarian one.
3. It has lyrics - I don't want to use songs with lyrics in these videos.
Anyways, once again I appreciate your opinion(s), even though we seem to have major different ones. No bad feelings about that
though.
@Junes: Bear is a SciFi composer GOD! Unfortunately his Defiance Soundtrack covers the main theme too often in its various songs and has not quite the design I see to fit for these kinds of videos (I like the Soundtrack very much ). I'll abuse the BSG Soundtrack more in the future, I guess.
