I'd like to see razors and other weapons buffed since no one uses them anymore, its sad that theres only cerberus and prims. I guess its a tendency now?

I'm not sure if anyone has seen this or tested it for themselves but i it seemes that with the mounted engine whenever u kill the engine u reach trade lane speed

Providing the character name would be useful. ~ ae

I've tried everything to install update 5 but still it is showing error. The error is something like this----------Download failed. 'Failed writing body (0!=2473)'.

What should I do!?

Ok folks, so I've managed to get update 5 up and running via the exception fron AVG, but for some reasonmy screen rez is now off. Additionally, the only in game icon (while on planet) showing is the launch icon. I do have the -dx in the command line.
It's the same way in SP mode as well. I tried a new game in SP mode, and it hasn't changed. So anyone have any ideas/thoughts on the issue and possible fix for this?

WIN 8 laptop, and everything was fine before the update. I would really rather not have to do a clean install if at all possible. My thx in advance.


EDIT: *sigh* Disregard and my apologies. I guess it would help if I actually read ALL of the trouble shooting thread concerning this issue instead of just the first couple of posts. We'll just call this a senior moment and go from there ok?

Was the planetary undocking sequence changed back to forward direction? It is not listed in the changelogs, and now my luxury liner is stuck on Manhattan, as it constantly blows up on undock.
Reverse dock was so much safer, why was it changed back?

I'd like to know about this too.
As far as I'm aware, the reverse planetary undocking worked fine.
Why was it reverted?

Probably because people were whining that undocking backwards took longer.

I think the whole 'turning around' thing causes larger ships like caps and barges to hit the planet.

It was either keeping this, or activating POBs. There was an issue with POB's docking, and reverting fixed it.

I think there's a set timer for when the ships move. A barge will barely move because of the slow turnrate. I have tried this myself.

@Trogdor - having very long ships undocking and moving forwards with their butts facing the planet (or sometimes sticking IN planet) was one of the troubles that was causing these massive ships to explode during undock. I imagine having them reverse out of the mooring was a means to try to prevent this.

Is there a way to make the undocking dependent on the type of ship? (ex. Transports undock backwards, gunboats undock forwards, etc?)
