She looked at Anderson and nodded in greeting. The waitress placed a steamy cup of coffee in front of Maria, who closed her hands around it, to feel the heat oozing out of it.
"Very well. You know my name, you know what i did, and you know my record. What you want more, Cerulean?"
Emily shared a glace at Kacey, before taking a seat. "I believe he's wanting assurance. It's not always possible to put a personality to a face"
Emily smiled slightly at Kacey, before locking eyes with Cerulean.
"You know all about us, yet I don't recall your name..."

Martin squinted briefly while staring back at Emily, then answered: "Ex-LSF, was it?" After a suppressed chuckle, he added: "I'm afraid we'll need to know one another a little better before I can tell you my name."
"Now, Kacey," he said as he turned to face her, "You say you can fight. You say you're professional. What I don't know -" he paused as he glanced over at Emily, "- is whether I can trust you. Depend on you." After a quick sip from his drink, he continued: "If we are to fly together, hunt together, kill together.. I need to know that you'll be there to cover my back."
"It's hard to tell what someone is really like from a page of text -" he grinned as he made eye contact with Emily, "- or twelve, wouldn't you agree?"
Emily smiles slightly as Cerulean avoided giving his name, deep down she knew he wasn't going to give such privileged information, not yet anyway.
Emily signaled a bottle of Fulmers, before a bottle was placed before her. It's sweet scent of berry and lime filled Emily's nostrils, she wasn't accustomed to drinking, but when the opportunity arose, she knew what she liked.
"Twelve?"
A smile crept onto the side of Emily's lips before she sipped from her beverage. "Try a file"
Emily gave a coy look to Cerulean, before realized her sleeve crept up her arm revealing a needle mark, quickly, she brushed her sleeve down, trying not to draw attention to it.

"Right," Martin began as he poured himself a refill, "After reading your file, Emily, there's one thing I couldn't help but wonder.."
"You've been busy fighting off the Gallic invasion forces in the last few months. I'm sure you're aware whose side the Reavers are on. What made you reconsider?"
"Ah," Emily began, "I'm tempted to say what other gun for hire would, but that's just boring..."
She paused for a moment, picking her words.
"It appears the BAF don't always pay their debts, and my primary client, the 27th, seems to have, relocated. Put simply, I can't afford to have shrapnel paying my expenses. Plus, Gallia seems to have much deeper pockets anyway.
She paused, realizing she could have simply said "Because they pay better".
With an raised eyebrow as she tasted the coffee, Maria heard Cerulean talking about the Gauls. As Emily answered, Maria decided to choke on the coffee on purpose, splurting the word bullshi* in the middle of the choking sound. With the two looking at her, she breathed in and said:

Martin's expression was both amused and surprised as Kacey excused herself after her poorly-acted show.
With a sparkle of fun in his eyes, Martin took another sip of his whiskey, then pointed at it while addressing Kacey: "No such problems with this stuff. You should try it sometime."
He then turned to face Emily again. "But you are as Libertonian as I am, aren't you? Not every day do I run into ex-LSF agents fighting their own people."
Emily didn't say anything for a moment or two, how long had she been out of service? 3-5 years now? She'd hardly spoke to anyone from her previous occupation.
"You seem to focus on the LSF aspect, a lot. She said leaning in. "Does the LSF scare you?" She smiled playfully, though something in her eyes showed discomfort.
As she silenced herself, she shared a glance with Kacey eying her up.
"Surely you don't think I'm an imposter now..." She turned back to Cerulean, "Do you?".
