If you're implying that Oubli's huggability is in any way close to how dangerous a fully-equipped POB is, then you're very much mistaken.

Base-hugging Rayburn will not be anything like "normal" basehugging, battleship or no battleship. Not to mention that the damn thing is barely ~60k at worst from where fights in Leeds take place.

This is also leaving all of the iRP problems (which I have gone over time and time again) out of the equation.

We've put in lots of time into that base.
Using it for a variety of different things along the way.
The change made the base much too difficult to resupply and in danger of being destroyed.
It was not in danger until after the system it was built in changed.

Some of you think they just allowed anyone and everyone to change where their pob's were located.
No only the ones that were in systems that changed were given the option.
We didn't intend or know they'd planned to change Leeds when we acquired Rayburn.

As for RP is concerned.. That station may have started as fuel depot.
It hadn't been used for that in a very long time.
Everything from a smuggler's station to storing ships, weapons and equipment.
It would now serve as a last safe harbor for those being hunted by our enemy.
Gallia shoots us on sight and also invades Bretonia.
While we would rather not take sides it seems we had no choice.

Just like we had no choice in them taking ore from humboldt and removing Saltese's original purpose as a silver ore storage.
It generated tons of activity and lots of action took place there.
Remember.. this?
Still we didn't ask to move it since nothing else in Humboldt changed.
It was not in immediate danger just rendered useless.
So we moved on.
Wish you all would too.

Explain a few things to me.

Why that particular spot? It's really convenient for the Congress to supply, being a short jog and trot away from Trafalgar, and it's also pretty nicely poised to defend the anti-Gallic alliance of factions that's a bit too long to list...Does it not strike your mind for a moment that such a spot has to be earned, and fought for? Before you retort with the argument that you've supplied the base to core 4 and maintained it...so has everyone else.

A true test of your capability would be to start a base from scratch in that same location, and bring it up to Rayburn's level while being under constant pressure. Since the Congress used the base move to avoid that process and responsibility, the GRN is understandably salty about it, having been denied a chance to respond as is proper.

What I'd like to see from the Congress is for you to immediately request that the base be moved to another location that allows it to be supplied but is not positioned on a spot that would normally be insanely hard to sustain a base from. I'd suggest somewhere 60k above/below plane of the New London Jump hole. If you wish to claim that spot, do it the hard way. Build a base from scratch there, and survive the sieging.

Of course, if you wish to dismiss my calmly worded discourse as "Q_Q" and "tears" and other such descriptors, be my guest. You'd be utterly wrong and guilty of using a generic descriptor to evade the responsibility of actually answering me...but that's your judgement really. I'd also like it if both Omicega and Nova-5 curb it a little, as calling each other variations of asisine asshat is not productive in anyway, shape or form.

I would actually like to apologise to Omiceca and others anyway for being a bit of a cretin over all this,
Sorry there lads, bang out of order I was.

For me, Rayburn is all that's been said about it, every little notion good bad and ugly, for us, we've had
the great, from secret bases to secret Rayburn filling station, the goods & fuel thats went through for us
was fantastic, we didn't build the base but we love the ittle bugger, but things changed in Leeds didn't it,
the Admins giving pobs these moves gave us a chance to bring her up from the deep, but now, the pleasure
of Rayburns been killed by the bad feelings, to save all the grief I'd rather have it blew, Rayburn belongs in
Leeds, not anywhere else and I'll have a go at rebuilding it if we did, something needs to be done if the whole
community' against these bad placed bases and not just Rayburn.

Sorry Papa, can't vote matey, I'd rather start anew & give these lads what they want & us too.

Moving POBs to proper location

The only annoyance I have with this is in regards to our own base Melbourne.

We worked flat out for a Month building and defending that base, logging every time so much as the shields went up to face the inevitable cap spam parked infront of it. We had every single faction in Liberty bar the LPI, plus a variety of factions clearly outside thier ZOI seigeing Melbourne on a daily basis. Defending from all the official and unofficial members of the Hellfire Legion, Rogues, Hackers, Xenos, Nomads, Order, Rheinland Military, Liberty Security Force, Liberty Navy, not to mention all the Pirates and Freelancers tagging along for the ride. Logging in 10 transport convoys escorted by Assault Wing gunboats desperatly trying to level the base up faster than our enemies can gather the forces to destroy it. Almost loseing the base 12 times in the space of the month.

Only to now find we could have built it under the plain with none of the above hastle, then have it moved there ...

I agree, it feels like betrayal to everybody who did it the normal way.

When we built Falster and it was attacked by Sairs minutes before the shield came up, we were working like insane to make it work. It was work. Part of it was fun, but for those in charge it was hard work.

Seeing people cheap-repositioning their invincible colossus now is just ridiculous.

It is wrong. Very wrong.

Well, to be fair....these people DID put in the hard work to make their bases, and it was devs who swapped the systems around on them.

It seems only fair to give them a chance to move it rather than saying "screw you. Do all your base building over again, suckas!"

Now, should they get free reign to choose ANYWHERE they want to relocate, but at least keeping it in the same system and not blocking any gates or jump holes seems fair.

Aye, Melbourne had it's troubles and fun fighting it out like you say, but
you could have given us a bit credit there AshHill07, those fine goods
the SFC received from Congress under special dispensations! helped
with the upgrades at Melbourne & those goods were smuggled from Gaul
through Bretonia to Puerto Rico via Rayburn Station.
You should be a bit thankful to Rayburn capt, without it, who knows
where your proud base would be now!
