Omega-9 is still very much up in the air. It's difficult to distinguish the opinion of the majority.

Following that Echo, will Omega-9 get some useful things inside in the next update?

I see you need to revise your definition of "up in the air". It means I have no idea at this point in time.

The fundamental question is whether or not to keep it in place. People who trade in the region hate it, those with the military strength to laim claim and fight over the fresh terrain are asking to keep and expand it.

This can be summarised by two key questions:
1) Should the system be kept at that location?
2) Should the system's internal design be changed?

There was a sig here, once.

The fundamental question is whether or not to keep it in place. People who trade in the region hate it, those with the military strength to laim claim and fight over the fresh terrain are asking to keep and expand it.

This can be summarised by two key questions, which can have four possible results:
1) Should the system be kept at that location?
2) Should the system's internal design be changed?

Perhaps option number two? Shrinking it and adding some stuff into the system such as bases and orefields?

Not gonna bother reading the last 6 pages because 4am and tired

Remove buffer systems pls, but keep 81 and move it back where it was. Was cooler that way

In other news, how many people actually knew that 81 existed before .87?

It is illogical to assume that major battles would happen in the core-system of a faction. Two superpowers so close together could not live in a stalemate for very long, as the outcome of a single battle could severely cripple the production of warships for the loosing side.

Consequently buffer-systems are a quite logical thing to implement. Why it didn't work as intended is easily explainable: The core systems are too interesting and the buffer systems too boring.

How to change that? It has been proposed before to
a) only give out cheap missions in the home system of a faction, basically just give an easy opportinity to rep without being disturbed
b) move capship missions to buffer systems (logic explained above) wich of course must contain a base to resupply, therefore moving the mission-grinders to the fight-zone
c) give them something jucy to fight about. Mining fields for example
and d) clear asteroids along given patrolrouts to facilitate moving capital ships between systems.

Such systems should be removed because of general tendencies.
It's a FACT that buffer systems don't improve the gameplay. Rather, opposite.
Some action in 9 doesn't mean that the system itself is good.
Revert omegas to their previous condition and you'll see that 0-11 and O-5 are enough.

Bumping this, in light of recent Outcast capital ships discussion.

Yep, shrink or delete most of Omicrons. Vanilla Omicrons along with some more systems should kickstart the activity in there.

bring back the OC/Sair easy routes and let Omicron Eta serve its real purpose( a battleground).
