After some further thought I don't really see the need for this to be a closed faction if the ID is rewritten to reflect the ZOI and behaviours of Etherium I have outlined. In fact this was an obstacle we encountered the first time around.
At that time my solution was the sickness I mention here - http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread...pid1480443 A common problem with RPG's is that, no matter the faction chosen, someone will come along and get the RP completely wrong, no matter how hard they try, and this can limit RP immersion.
The Etherium scope of mental stability is very wide, from being calculated superhuman intellectuals, to the point where the very sick and insanely crazy delusional ones may fully believe and insist they are human terrorists, or call themselves scary things like Phantoms (we all know this is going to happen in someones encounter at some point, right?). This has all been covered and it would actually be a faction goal to find these very sick individuals and try to "cure" them.
Not saying it has to be open, just saying it really doesn't have to be closed either.
Also if a Mod sees this could you please move this thread to General Discussion, as that seems to be where everyone is talking about this stuff? Thanks.
If you are wondering why this looks as refined as it is it is because it has seen over a year of play on another server. During that time there were no incidents of harmful gameplay and the RP was alot of fun. There is alot I haven't posted here, which is more along the lines of story lore and interaction on that server that I can't really re-use here, but it makes good reference material for how Etherium can be played. If you would like a link to this material, please drop me a PM and I'll send it to you.

Would you hunt for Iridium traders/miners and such, or mine yourself ?
Also great work to make them dependable on a such commodity, adds diversity and adds something to be important to them, an ongoing mission to supply themselves with Iridium.
Also I see a great possibility for Order to get a friend against nomads, which would actually add some balance to the whole Small order fleet vs Bunch of strong aliens nonsense which happened when Order was crippled by attack.

Beautifully scripted, refined (as said). It was one of the "very different" type of story I have read in my yet short-lived disco life.
Gives a new, and as could be seen, an approved idea on the revival of Phantoms. And its described in a much different way unlike linking to what they were before.
