To paraphrase
"Let us have a corvo!"
"No, you'll screw up our neutrality"
"Well... The outcasts can give me corvos" (¿Logic)
"Hmmm. Let's tell the GRN that the VR are trying to source a Corvo and we had nothing to do with it if they end up with one"
"OMG MUST DELETE ALL ZONER SHIPS!"
At least that's what it seems a bit like
"Give me a ship"
"lolno"
"We'll take away your ships then lol suck it HashtagYouOnlyLiveOnceSwagger"
If the Nephilim is going to turn into a huge, massive battle transport, it will be no longer be considered a capital ship, right? (Asked this question because it just seemed like the size alone would classify it as a capital ship).
Also, will it retain the same stats other than the battleship weapons and powercore?(Powercore should be large if it has multiple turrets).
Also, if you're planning to turn it into a massive super battletransport that can't fight ships half it's size, can you at least keep the battleship shield?
(Also you might want to give the Barge a BS shield while you're at it...maybe?)
I don't know how much I can say about stats, since they're not actually final, but what we've got on the table right now is some serious defensive capabilities for the Nephilim. Big plant, decent firepower, and better shield/hull than the other 5Kers.
Quote: ... the omicrons suffer from activity-loss enough, why strip them even further?
Are the Zoner caps the only thing keeping the Omicrons active? If so...maybe there's more to that problem.
I know you think you understand what you thought I said but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant. I shall put it simpler for ye laddie. there are five people in a room. a zoner, a nomad, a bunter, a corsair and an order-player. one of the people leaves. there are now four people in the room. four is less than five. one is not all of five. in fact, it's exactly 20% of five. 20% is not a totality, nor even a majority, so the epithet 'all' cannot be applied. troll question is trollololol.
ln, lsf, lpi, dse, hackers, rogues, xenos, junkers, freelancers, independant pirates, and outcasts are in a room. one of the people leaves. how much decrease, in percentage terms, has the population of the room dropped? has all of the activity gone?

Lore, population numbers, and the general individualism and fragmentation of zoners and their splinter groups logically prevents serious work to be done on the design and construction of large capital warships.

As an aside, Corvo's not being nerfed. Unless you want it to be, in which case I can make that happen for you.
if this is the case, then take them away from every faction without an inhabited planet. this retconn undoes years of established practice. zoners have had caps for all of my tenure on disco, and everyone has grumbled that they shouldnt have them, and they have always pointed out that the parts can be manufactured in discrete locations, and assembly only needs to happen in one place.
However, this reason given is a lame-duck RP reason. I'd like you to think like a business development executive for a moment here. Zoner caps, popular. taking them away is unpopular. what happens when you take away a popular product from your consumer base?
I'm not really interested in the RP reason, but the RL reason. is the above story true? zoners are being told that because you tried to restrict everyman and his dog from having a zoner cap, they are being taken away from everyone? are you mal-adjusted selfish brats?
I think the dev team needs to sit down together and have an intervention. It's time to stop designing new stuff, and work on fixing the buggy laggy mod that you have created. no more changes, no more storyline advance. 85 was good. skypefriends and the tech-sharing was a joke. there are many good things about this current release, but they are being overshadowed by the drama. Time for a reality check - the people that are on the other side of the screen are gamers, just like you, and you are completely trolling them with this nerf to end all nerfs.
remember rule 0.0. the playerbase who fly these ships are against this move, so much in fact that they stress the ability of this forum to contain their words in one post. I don't fly one of these ships - i hate flying caps - but taking away a piece of history out of petty spite is really immature.
I play this game to unwind, to do something different from my RL, where i can get caned, fined, imprisoned, deported and lose my livelihood for crossing the road in the wrong place. Every second i am on the forums is a second that i am not in game. but, spending time actually playing the game means that this kind of dramalancer would pass me by and then when the change is implemented and i say 'wait what?' i would be told 'rtf'.
I'd like to say kudos for having a process of dialogue before the event: this is a good thing, but it needs completion. Merely disbursing information is only the first half; saying 'what we want to do' has to be followed with 'why we want to do it'. And then listen to those affected, and say 'this we can adjust, that we cannot because of x, y, and z'
I;d say having elected developers would have prevented this zoner-saga, as they would need to engage with their electorate (talk to those involved) and explain their policies (deliver beta versions, not rumours of alpha versions), and have more open-ness and transparency about the direction of the development.
I am so incensed at this proposal that it is not possible for me to write a proper rebuttal without it devolving into a frothing, vulgar diatribe against everyone supporting it. Maybe I should; if this change happens I will no longer have any desire to play Discovery anyway, so I have nothing to lose.
But I still have hope that tomorrow you guys will wake up and say to yourselves "That was a stupid idea. What were we thinking?" So I will just point my finger at what Coin just posted and say, "This."
1. You threw out a player for problems not commited ingame or forums - Jan 22, 2014. VR went official 11-17-2013. Throwing a person out of a faction for no problems in-game or on forums but simply by a Conflict of interests? I may not be the leader of the BAF for long but I for one would never... NEVER.. do such a low act to one of my pilots. Nor should any other faction, official or not, do such. I'll say nothing more on this.
2. TAZ deregisters VR from their bounty board with no contact between TAZ and VR -Jan. 23. Taking into the consideration that TAZ, and Doc I might add, worked hard to fix the strain caused by the Punishers in their act of shooting down TAZ vessels. After that not one incident has occured to our thanks. At that point considering our very limited Bounty Board, such services were no longer needed.
3. Feb. 7 - You requested the schematics of a Corvo to use for your own useage. First off. You made one mistake. Brettonias could not give such even if he wanted to. So at that point you didnt go to anyone above him, which you could have but did not.
4. Seeing as not a word is spoken, you go past us to another faction, Contari Lance, having witnessed it's use several times before. I myself am part of the CL but I will not step on their toes out of respect and due to conflict of interests in which will call me Biased. However on the corvo itself, I do not know how they acquired access to one and will not ask for it. The problem being that even with that knowledge, how could they give such an older craft in which they explained that it no longer works? Game Mechanics therefore apply. And no reason to discuss such here.
5. TAZ Notifies the GRN - Feb 16. I admit. I did not read this until now. Therefore I apologise for the act of this seeing as we would have no idea such a talk would even occur. So I will talk with Sabre over it and go from there.
6. No need for discussion.
Apologies for going off track of this discussion. I simply wished to answer such claims.

I will refrain on commenting on this until stats, even preliminary ones, are shown. I however can say with talks to one of the devs, modifications will be made to troubling spots in game which will benefit all players flying larger craft through high traffic roid fields. So therefore, unless youre trying to escape through a low traffic or no traffic roid field, we may no longer have to deal with getting stuck.
