You gotta understand price performance ratio in disco is exponential. A bs is perhaps 500x the cost of a LF while only being 3 or 4x the overall performance.

Don't patrol with your cap, leave it docked at a base in an area you want to be in. Fly something else until you see a ship large enough to be a good match, then head back and get your cap. Its just luck of the draw, you could run into a cruiser that might go down easily, or might come across a couple of bombers or gb's that are too hard to hit and can easily out manoeuvre you. Some may call it 'metagaming' but as far as I'm concerned, if you dock at the same base as your cap, and never fought the ship you want to pursue, you're fine. Nothing oorp about walking off the deck from your scout ship and onto the bridge of your battleship. But hey, you can always hire a freelancer to scout with/for you for the same reason.

You get a cookie for posting the first answer that helps and may not actually drive the new guy from the server (cause ya know we have so many now), enjoy!
So you think that because you've had the patience to grind out more money than some other people, you should be able to trample them completely unopposed?
Because that's the primary reason for the current balance.
I think it's funny. No that's not right. Tragic does fit better.
What I don't understand is that as far as ship development goes, if you were actually trying to be realistic, all of the ships would slowly get better and better. What you have now is reverse evolution because some people are crybabies. That guy has bigger muscles than you? Cry "waaaaaah" and watch as his muscles are filletted! This is what passes for reality now? Life isn't fair. Some people can build better things than others. That's reality. Suck it up.
Actually I'd say the guy raises a valid point about the combat effectiveness to cost ratio of ships, but then again the game isn't balanced correctly (extremely low cap skillcurve vs extremely high snub skillcurve) so the monetary difference is just to act as a buffer. Its a bandage just like technerf.
Its not about the # of ships or how rich you are. And in the end blue messages aren't everything. What matters most in the game is the level of RP you bring to the table. Thats what the server is for.
