The issue is not really the chef working for free, quality of his food, or existence of other restaurants in the vicinity. The issue is the dissatisfied costumers all of a sudden gettin up, breaking dishes, screaming nonsense and storming out of the restaurant without even the slightest or vaguest mention of what they disliked about the food other than it "just sucks", and then coming back after a few days and complaining about the food still tasting as bad, which not only demotivates the chef from trying to figure out what's wrong with his food, but disturbs other costumers as well. So by the end of the day, the poor chef's standing there having no idea why each costumer didn't like the food, because not a single one of them says a single word that isn't wrapped in a good pile of rage, so even if the chef intends to improve the quality of his food, he would not be able to because no one's actually telling him what they don't like about it and even if he tries, he'd be fixing his food based on his own taste, and not the costumer's.
The chef comparison which Omicega made with that so-lovely and so-nice attitude of his aside, as a dev I've said one simple thing on far too many occasions - If you want to complain about an issue, we're more than willing to listen and take it into account long as you point out the actual issue and suggest possible solutions for it. Anyone and everyone, even those with absolutely no knowledge of FL deving at all, are more than welcome to constructively contribute to the mod and I'll be more than glad to do the grunt work of implementation long as it's in my area of dev work, however, most people just like to sit on their high horses, point fingers at the general direction of people with colored names and yell "This whole thing sucks", while unable or unwilling to answer the simple "Why?" they'll be asked in return.
If something around here sucks, you either care enough to complain about it or you don't. If you do care, also take the time to make your contribution constructive and not just an average dose of webkiddierage and then you'll have every right to expect the dev team to take your suggestion into account, but if you don't, then I truly and honestly feel sorry for you for having nothing better to do than putting so much energy into complaining about something you claim you don't or no longer care about.
P.S: The "Bitter Vet Syndrome" is a rather painful way to go, I hear. My sincerest condolences to you folks.

-Trim down Gallia (unless you already are), no really, I'm being serious about this: it's too large for the current player base and has way too much real estate to begin with.
-Make bases less of a pain in the ass to maintain so that people can spend more time doing something less tedious and isolated. Or just even disable upkeep as it is and formulate a different system to keep the base herds in check.
-Shipcompat and techcompat (whatever the hell they are called), in my experience, have inhibited the ability of players to freely express themselves creatively. Didn't a few very important factions emerge from the unrestricted fitting options prior to the compat plugins? I understand that it's necessary to prevent a few special individuals from flying a Gallic ID'd Lib Dread with Coalition guns, but there must be a better way rather than these restrictions.
-More of a pet peeve rather than a pressing issue, but whatever: can we have docking bays be weightless and have a higher capacity? It's annoying to have to deal with a 200u cargo penalty for something that most capital ships/liners already have in the first place. I feel that it would make them less useless.
Among many other things that I cannot remember at the moment. Hell, I'd even help if I knew what the hell I was doing and didn't have ridiculous time constraints
aerlem, why dont you make a specific thread, sub forum or whatever for this "people put in their ideas in there" thing?
Restrict it to a format wise thing, a simple format. Keep out the flames, and we can have people shouting out politely what they want, instead of doing the same in a very flaming and harsh way, that creates a chaos, like in the two threads that came out today. And dont allow others to debate upon ones opinion in that thread.
tl;dr make a thread for changes that people want to shout out, and keep out the flames.

Like I have said many times, theres no no need to delete gallia or shrink it, or remove systems. You must edit the systems that people are most likely clash into, for instance - hispania omicrons - shrink them, except alpha - make it possible for img/oc get to the taus in one jump hole as it was. Second, buff all trade items to omicrons - 200%. Shrink Omega-47, Omicron Zeta - Remove ellesmere hole to minor and bring back minor>alaska, SHRINK Sigma-13 ( like really fast ), You wanted suggestions, there you have it. I should also point out, that due to these systems that I no longer feel any need to fly anywhere - given that Im playing only at the omicrons. Now there are no excuses.
oh, one last thing
remove 3.1 ( or whatever ) - no pvp death time limit - see if that works, i bet it will.
Oh, and another thing - Open the unique ships - and make em work on each id ( except ids that do not allow a specific ship ) - that'll give another reason to check em out and try em
oh and please make a new thread saying the server issues are done, i don't think the message is out to everyone.

Many systems in Gallia can go for days without seeing a single person, the place is simply too large. If we had a maxed server population as it was years ago, this wouldn't be a problem, but at the moment many of the Gallic systems are just assets that would be better placed elsewhere.

why would anyone visit anjou, as if its like new-york? theres no reason. No one does that so whats the problem? let em be deadlands - no one visits them to fight anyway.
removing gallia doesnt fix anything at all, unless theres a connection from gallia to omicrons rheinland. ( and there are none ).
The idea is that the assets of wasteland systems could be better put to use elsewhere to actually be used like freelancer or (I can't believe I'm saying this) Zoner, or other bases in the least populated edge worlds to encourage some sort of activity. The map needs to be condensed to encourage easier player interaction. I don't really know, but assets that are barely being used serve no point, deleting them would be a waste of time and energy so might as well redistribute them.
