Jacob merely glances sideways at Yuuta, his hands folded as he watches him get up. "So that was the squishy mat I was enjoying at the time.. Dissapointing, I was actually enjoying having something rather than the hard floo-.." Pausing, grumbling quietly to himself.
"I'll expect a report next time you decide working, although I most likely will not get one anyways. I miss the days yo-.. Nope, he's not listening anymore."
Chuckling quietly to himself. Yuuta was an interesting man to keep around, a genius at the times he actually decided to work, but had no professionalism whatsoever. Then again, neither did Jacob himself when it came to internal policies, although regretfully he had to put on a good front when it came to business matters.
Thus was the Interspace Commerce chain of command. A very interesting group of people, although profits with a positive trend kept everybody happy.
Turning his attention back to Matthew, he waits for a response.
Pretty sure I can do that...would help to know what the upgrades are before I start getting you reports. Wouldnt want to waste your time with useless things.
You got anything to drink? I've been drinking rice wine for the last two years.
"I'm scared that if I stop drinking all at once the cumulative hangover will actually kill me"
Jacob gives him a look that says 'are you kidding me' for a few seconds. "Forget it, i'll find someone else to do it. I'd rather not rely on someone who won't get the excellent results I desire, however, keep up your good work with employee checkups."
Raising a brow at his request for something to drink, smirking, and retrieves a bottle of Rice Wine from a counter that was built into the wall, to the left of his desk.
"Merely some good ol' Rice Wine to drink. Have some. And say sorry to the door for kicking it on your way in when you're done. I suppose that's all I needed to say."
Yuuta emerges from the closet, shocked and horrified.
"I...I.. I did not expect to see the janitor doing such a thing with a mop... I didn't even know you could use a mop like that... And the candles he had lit, that just can't even be safe with all those flammable cleaning supplies stored in there..."
He begins walking back down the hallway toward Jacob's office, thinking about what he just saw, and how to comprehend it.
"Nope, can't deal with it, there's no way I'll be able to get anything done, knowing that guy is walking around Otemachi with that mop, defiling everything he touches."
Yuuta walks back to the broom closet and yells through the door...
"Hey! Janitor guy! Once you finish up in there and blow out those candles... And *shudders* throw away that mop out the airlock... Once you've done all that, you're fired.
Don't touch anything on your way out either, get someone to open the doors for you."
Yuuta nods to himself proudly and walks back down the hall. He passes by Jacob's office and notices a bottle of Rice Wine in Jacob's hand. Yuuta walks in...
"Ooo, SAKE! Delicious stuff that is, the true drink of choice for any Kusarian. I'm not sure what the cause for celebration is, but whatever it is, it deserves proper glasses, I have a set that will work wonderfully back in my office, a Christmas present from my wife, Raika."
Yuuta snatches the bottle from Jacob's hand and hurries to his office.
Yuuta walks in, closes the door, and never returns to Jacob's office, though the sounds of sipping can be heard from the other side of the door.
Richard Brown was whirling towards his cabin. It has been quite some days since he last arrived at Otemachi. He was tied to the contract he had taken charge of, to supply Empire Station in Newcastle, and has been residing in Waterloo for the past few weeks. He quickly opened his cabin doors and pushed himself in.
"Jesus! Where did all this mess come from? The hell. Where is the person who is supposed to have all this cleaned? The Ja...ni, some guy. Where is he? Fire him at once!" He was shouting at the top of his voice, alarming the others in the nearby cabins.
He then, swiftly placed some of his files and documents that he had bought with him, from New London, in his locker and moved out of his cabin. He proceeded towards the office of Shirou. Knocked, opened the door and went inside.
"Konnichiwa san Shirou. How have things been proceeding lately? And glad to say that I have some good news with me. I worked out the contract and our boys have been doing a great job, supplying the station and maintaining it. I have bought the reports with me. I can see that the whole place is abuzz with something that they might have heard. Are we going to do anything?"
He looked puzzled as he stood there, awaiting an answer from the boss himself, who was busy drinking sake.
Mercana looks to Richard after finishing his drink... "Greetings Mr. Brown, things have been proceeding well lately. Everything is on schedule for the hull upgrades, I am just now waiting for the Engineering Department to send us the schematics from our offices on Newark. I believe the ruckus is over whom will be sent on an advisement team to consult for the Cold Lake Project. We have a 5 member team being selected to board the Pelican to Alberta, we'll be having a Board Meeting shortly to determine who will be a part of the group. There's also gossip over our plans to purchase another Barge from Deep Space Engineering. We've been negotiating with their Sales Department over a price, but I have not yet spoken with their representative since their last offer."
He pauses, pouring himself another glass of sake, offering his employee a glass for himself as well.. "Other than that things have been pretty quiet in Okinawa. I've made arrangements with a fellow on Miura for some local chefs to be sent to the station. I am a bit bias towards my native cuisine, and this Libertonian food has gotten quite boring. Anyway lets see those reports shall we?. "
He leans back in his office chair, kickng his feet back on the desk to relax a bit more.
Richard stretches out his hands to receive the glass of sake offered by Mercana Shirou
"Gracias san Shirou. Forgive my choice of language, those hispanic people and their accents, stuck with me, after meeting them quite often during my time at New London. Not ones to remember though....well leave that. Good to hear that everything is proceeding as scheduled. I heard that there are a group of Ageira contractors going by the name of Sebastain Hart and Anthony Hall, who have been doing an excellent job supplying things for the cold lake project. We should keep an eye on them, smart boys, who can be a great asset, new blood to our corporation"
He whirls his glass of sake in a circular motion, and took them, sip by sip.
" Regarding the Barge, its a good idea. I hope the Deep Space Engineering can come into agreement for a good price. Fortunate for you that, Kusarian cuisine is at your doorsteps Mr. Shirou. I will see if ay arrangements have been made for that. Anything you need my help for, Mr. Shirou?"
Robert started flickering around things lying on the table, as Mr. Shirou was going through the files that he had bought along with him.
Mercana reviews the files. "Haha that is quite alright Mr. Brown. Yes indeed we will keep an eye on those Ageira contractors, they may be of use to us in the future. I will see that we send a representative to discuss further business with them. Hopefully we work out a deal for the Barge by the end of the quarter, it would make the figures look good."
He pages through the documents, grinning at the success of his employee. "You've done quite well this year Mr. Brown. I shall see that payroll gives you a bonus to reflect your dedication and hard work for this company. As another gift from me, you may take the rest of this bottle of Sake. It was given to me by a politician from my own prefecture on Honshu, a good honorable civil servant. The sake comes from a notable brewery in the north. Anyway I believe that is everything I need from you, why not take a bit of R&R on Miura while youre in the area eh?"
Mercana smiles, handing the bottle to Richard.
Robert reached for the bottle of sake across the bench, from Shirou.
"Thank you San Shirou. That pretty much sums up my queries. It will be pleasant to see Otemachi getting some additions. And yeah, I will be going to Miura soon. Got issues to sort out with the local trader. Seems like he has been buying Helium at an increased price. Will see to that."
Robert took the files, and went out of Shirous' office in a hurry. On his way, he saw an anxious man waiting outside the cabin of Bontrager.
"Must be the new employee whose personal interview was due some days back."
He thought to himself as he passed the cabin. He went inside his cabin and placed the files on the table, took his personal belongings and came out. He locked his cabin and went for the exit.
