what is actually the problem? - imo, it should be outcast only. - let it be derived from the sketches of the sabre... but its been outcasts that have developed it. except for the dromedary, which is truely borderworld **and i suspect that it is only viewed borderworld, cause its rather useless in terms of transportation** - all other BW ships are strongly associated with the outcasts.
on Jinx, i cannot buy me a sabre and fly through gamma. - its simply the way that all BW ships scream outcasts to everyone, even if they are basicly lawless civilian. ( freelancers fly them, remember )
so i d say, of course make this ship a true outcast ship. there is allmost no reason not to. like it was said before, outcast allies will buy it anyway, unless you put it into the game like the blood dragon that says that its never given to anyone else, but their closest allies ( and still, you d be surprised how many closest allies the outcasts suddenly have, much like the blood dragons that would give the red catamaran and the blood dragon only to their siblings - and yet you see mercs and whatnot fly around with those ships )
when it comes to BW designs - i can suggest igiss to make my formerly "zoner" gunboat a BW gunboat - but i d like it to have a reputation like the dromedary then. i d like to fly it as a zoner and not be shot by corsairs ( thats sort of the point ). - but its hard to chance peoples mind. - when its about RP, i should be able to fly a sabre into gamma without ANY raised eyebrows.
btw. epyons GB looks much more outcast only. mine looks more borderworld, cause its much roomier ( its build to look sort of comfy with a generous cargospace and a few GB weapons. ( i suggest only 4 GB turrets for my GB ) - when epyon thinks of 7 - 8 GB turrets - and with that shape, i wouldn t even tive this ship the usual 300 cargospace but 100 at most ( it just doesnt look like it has room ) - then it wouldn t be something the "borderworlds" need. borderworlds mainly need good compromises of cargospace, protection and weaponpower. - this one says awesome attackpower, paired with superior agility but no cargospace to me.
edit: besides, why is there allways such a discussion about the outcast gunboat? - a hell of a thread last time, and this one grows aswell. the outcasts do not have a gunboat - and they need one ( or want one ). nothing wrong with that. - just don t make it the supreme ruler of the universe in stats but keep it balanced and all is fine.
the outcast battleship is a general failure? - i think it looks pretty nice - and it has a very low profile.. so its actually able to dodge weaponfire. - its the first time i hear that the outcast BB is a failure....

Same here, Jinx.
Err, let's not spam Eppyspammer's spam thread, however..
as a matter of fact, i have never flown one, yea - so maybe you can elaborate your opinion a little - in the end, it may help to improve it ( if the flaws are serious ) with the next mod update.
for me, its allways been a ship that fits well into the niche within "what the outcasts need". they have a huge dreadnaught that can hardly dodge but has a hell lot of armour and firepower, and a long, but rather small battleship with less firepower but more survivability when flown well.
but i feel we re getting away from the actual discussion. - allthough everything about the gunboat has been said allready......... multiple times.

Ok. Weapon distribution is definitely wrong, for the Outcast Battleship. I owned one, for quite some time. And I pretty much know that I'd always use the Osiris against this because of the weapon distribution. Also, it haves a few problems with the hitbox. Nothing really bad, but the thing that spoils it is the placement of the guns. It's supposed to be a Battleship (aka ship which flights other ships), but at the current level, it can't distribute it's firepower normally. Like, if you get a couple of bombers behind and under your OC BS, and you try to shoot them, you'll know what I mean. To my knowledge, no other BS haves the same problems. And that isn't the only spot like that. And because of those small problems, I have chosen the Outcast Dreadnought. Especially because it's better balanced, and I don't tend to have problems with Mammoth ships in asteroid fields;)
Sorry Eppy for spamming your thread, this was about the GB:P
Perfect. Just choose a right hitbox.. It needs to be hittable by Supernova..
I wouldn't like it to just go trough it :-)
