They are not Rheinland ships. We already told you that it's a bug.
It happened a zillion times till now, and it will most certainly happen again.
For example, Avenger was sold on Curile, Raven Claw was sold on a Junker base..
Etc..
It is a GMG ship. And it's GMG only, unlike the Viper which is Zoner/GMG.
GMG would NOT give their superior technology to RM as a sign of good faith.
That would be just dumb.
RM also doesn't need bombers, as they had them at that time also.
And Talarca is sold on Honshu - not Aomori.
And please don't use more then 1 as a flagship.

Hold on here sir I'm confused. I was told GMG won the war with Rheinland using advanced tactics and knowledge of the surrounding area. NOT using superior technology.
If you by superior technology mean bigger ships, then no.
If you by superior technology mean one of the best bombers, then yes.
Simple as that.
Let me quote myself from the first page :
Quote:They didn't win with battleships. They won with their bombers and their gas clouds.
So, read carefully before accusing.

I'm not acussing I'm simply going by the information supplied to me from the public. Now if having the Taiiden class ship is rp then hell lets think about using it. Moving on to other subjects is there any history actually saying what started the 80 years war?
Before you guys get too involved in this discussion you should remember something very important.
Bombers did not exist in the original FL game.
The GMG beat rheinland by using the explosive gas clouds and hordes of falcons and eagles.
@: whoever it was boasting about beating fighters/bombers etc in gas clouds with a capship, try it without your shield.
Then you'll find out exactly what happened to the rheinland fleet.
@: whoever said it's ok for the GMG to have/use vipers. Just because the zoners build them doesn't mean they give them out to anyone with the cash. The vipers are in the mod for the CR and BSG guys to use, thats it.
No one else has a believable RP reason to have or use one. As for the zoners building them... how many shipyards do you see owned by the IMG again?

Now, my opinion on this:
Go for it, recommended shiplist would be:-
kusari freighter(s),
armoured transport,
the gas miner,
transports (for hauling h-fuel to kusari)
trains (for hauling h-fuel to other houses),
falcons,
eagles.
Possibly have as well/restricted use - civilian bombers (you don't need a bomber as an escort).
No need for any gunboats or cruisers.

Now, before people start waving pitchforks and torches around think about this: escorts are there to make sure the tranport/train/freighter survives.
They are not there to WTFBBQPWN any and all pirates they encounter.

Well you can't really mix original game and discovery.... if you look around many of the bombers were made before the original game started (in discovery timeline). Read for example the infocard of the Havoc bomber... how it's second version of a bomber that was built long before the original FL SP took place.
and btw.. in one mission in SP you get: "we have incoming Rheinland bombers".... sadly Valkyries with torps come.
Also by this logic RM can't use bombers since they were not in vanilla... or Hessians should not use their new line of fighters since it's ooRP.
----------------------------------------------
Ships:
Falcon, Eagle ,Griffin
Taidan line it has GMG written all over it, Taidan HF, Bomber, ... doesn't matter where it's sold for me.
Stinger - also has GMG written all over
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
Probably for rich Sigma-13. You know how border worlds are usually under control of the House.
For example, Bering, Hudson, etc.. There are no lawful bases there, but there are House NPC's.
Just like Kusari NPC's in Galileo.
And since Sigma-13 is one of the rare rich border systems, I can see RM and GMG fighting for it.
RM wanted to get fuel directly, not trough GMG..
Now they are getting from 2nd or 3rd hand:)
GMG > Zoners > RM .. Or similar..

So in relation to the ID I think the list of things the GMG would be able to do is this:
- Trader convoys + escorts (H-Fuel and Plutonium to Liberty, Bretonia and Kusari)
- Security of the gas miners in the Sigma systems and Aomori station in Honshu
- If asked by a trader or ally, providing protection in the Sigma systems and possibly Honshu
- Possible hunting of pirates operating in the Sigma systems who often attack GMG or allied convoys
The GMG ID also allows for fulfilling of lawful contracts, but that would be sort of.. meh, unless the GMG really has loads of people in it.
Also, there was some thought about the ranking structure in that everyone who wants to apply will be first given a Gas Miner transport for free from the guild and a monetary goal (ten million possibly?) to fulfill to advance in rank. No fighters at first, just the Gas Miner. The second rank will allow setting up and equipping a Taiidan fighter on another account, third rank will unlock the bomber and so on. It's a bit of a departure from the standard "security department" and "transport department" being independent from each other.
