Per my discussion with Thyr, we're re-opening this thread. But it will be shut down in an instant if any more trial-by-forum/ooRP hate against TAZ/Order or anyone involved in the current situation in Baffin. Thyr really wants to discuss this, so giving it a second chance. Play nice now.
Anyways, as I've said before, these happened before and will happen a lot, cause tbh , if the community would be willing to go along the RP of others aswell, istead of holding on to their own ideas by any means , things would be different. Fortunately , there are quite a few who do, but in the end, there will always be events where one feels that his/her idea is superior and has the right to decide that.
What if the other party deliberately roleplays knowing this? Let's say my policeman character is to arrest a murderer, and the player plays along, let's the character being arrested, brought to court, then sentenced to, let's say, death. And then when they are at the death row, said player changes his mind and doesn't want his character to die, even despite at that point the actions of his character have led him into a situation with no options left, although it is not him who's enforcing said situation. What is the outcome expected in such situations?
With this scenario, the criminal character is aware of what's coming up, court case, trial, et cetera.
In most roleplay scenarios people are not aware of what is coming up. It is usually shielded from them.
I would consider this a poor example for people to empathise with because it contains this fallacy.
