You realise that The Order would have to operate all around Sirius to perform it's faction goals, right?
Operating all over sirius is fine. In Vanilla freelancer the order operated all over sirius. A fighter or even a bomber wing I have no problem with, easy to sneak around and spy on people like the Order would do.
It's when a battleship shows up in the space of it's allies and proceeds to start causing a fight that I have a problem with it.
Order operatives in Baffin? Okay, fine. A bit far away from Order home space but hey, paranoid intelligence operatives gotta operate.
The leader of the entire Order showing up in his battleship? Wait what? Doesn't he have underlings to do that?

It was actually a scout cruiser. Don't blow it out of all proportions.

Battleship Atum, a stationary battleship, is 3 jumps away from Baffin. I don't think that's too far from Order staging points.

Actually, it wasn't Golanski himself who appeared there, but one of his "underlings", Valkyrie, another Order operative.
The situation derived from spontaneous roleplay. The Persephone arrived and reactions to it came. When you talk about an apparent nomad infection, I'd understand that you don't wait long for explanations through a comm channel post. Due to the need to act quickly, an investigation was demanded, and it was refused, so the hostilities began. I don't see where the problem is and why it calls for an ooRP drama.
Here is your fancy discordian fx, as I had promised. Now would you kindly get over with this and stop pointing fingers. Golly was well within to act upon what his character had seen, as would your characters if they see a human ship geared up of nomad stuff.

that is..... woah. woah! woah! woah! that is an epic effect.
just like Sabre should have contacted the parties to make sure the whole security lockdown won't end up in powergaming, or at least the participants won't feel so/would be assured of different intentions.
Cool.

It's not too bad how it stands now, with everyone at least aware of where they're standing.
