Sitting back in her chair, crossing her legs. "You're lucky. A simple life is something I would kill for, instead I get headaches when I work with stuff outside of the facilities here."
Glancing upwards, giving Finn a small nod. "Oh, not at all. Just some small talk. I didn't actually expect to see you. Ever. You're always in front of a computer monitor. Have a seat. Perhaps you could share your life story as well, it seems that's what we're doing now, eh?"
Finn got a ping on his datapad, and hurriedly rushed away, leaving Liam and Rachel sitting alone.
Fast forward 6 months
Walking on to the Ingenuus from Sparta station, he missed being able to relax and enjoy his surroundings. Having been a non-stop mixture of events during the past 6 months, Finn was thankful for any amount of time he had to find time to himself or at the very least, time to relax and just sit down.
Making his way back towards the lounge area, he made sure to stop by his quarters and shred his work clothes and slip into something more comfortable and relaxing. He of course made sure his flash was tucked away in his back pocket. Walking down the hall towards the lounge, he wondered what or who he might find in the lounge, though he suspected Rachel and Brandon wouldn't be far behind once they settled onboard.
Entering the large and open lounge area, he immediately went to the bartender and ordered a glass of Dublin Whiskey on the rocks. Sitting down at the bar overlooking the main floor, he sat back and admired the view.
It indeed didn't take long for Rachel to follow suit when it came to getting off of work. Mumbling something beneath her breath as she heads back to her room on the Ingenuus, pulling off her work clothes, putting on a loose fitting long-sleeved shirt, and.. cargo pants. Obviously not something which a female would fear for 'fashion' really.
Starting off down to her favorite bar aboard the Ingenuus. Taking out the pins in her hair, letting it fall loosely down her back. The black hair ending at almost above her thighs, being insanely long.
Spotting someone familiar sitting at the bar, she slowly walks up and takes a seat next to him without saying anything. Spotting he was drinking something already, smiling slightly to herself. Yeah. That was McCool alright.
If McCool was to look over at her next to him, he'd find that Rachels cheek was pressed against the bar. Her arms splayed out over it. "Rmmmm... laaazzy time." She says happily. Her head raising a little bit just for the bartender to notice her. She's been here enough where he knew what to get her. Sliding a iced black liquid over to her. Happily taking a sip of it. Was that.. Pepsi? Or whatever equivalent there was to it at least at this time. Looks like she didn't like drinking much.
"It's interesting seeing you around McCool, I was starting to think that you never stopped working." She says to him slowly.
As he looked over, Finn chuckled as he saw his head scientist and co-Director half-sprawled over the bar counter. Taking another sip, and placing the empty glass on the bar, he motioned for another with a friendly smile.
"Work is my life, you know that. Whereas someone people use ta term 'work/life balance', I don't. It's all fascinating t' me, and something I love. It's ta unknown, ta ability t' create, t' study, and many times t' fail. But you learn from it. It's... life. You see this drink?"
He grabs the filled glass from the bar, right as it was set down by the bartender. Looking at it with a smile, he held it in front of Rachel's face.
"It's a creation. Hell, it's my creation. Granted, I didn't create ta various alcohols and liquids, but it's combination and fusing was of my design! I love this! Everything requires a design, a plan of conception. Ta end result? Something magnificent and..." taking a sip, "Delicious! Want some?"
Rachel slowly picks her head up. Looking at the liquid curiously. "Why am I not surprised. That's so like you to create your own mixture of all things. Some things never change, eh?" Always seeing him carrying around a certain flask with him. "There's more things than just research and study. Hell, even I have a family that I gotta take care of. Yeah, this stuff here is my work. It's a really big part of my life too. Sadly I really can't seem to escape the need to be a 'social' being like you've managed to scuttle away from. At least from appearances and all.
"I would get into a philosophical mood right now, but I just can't do it. I dunno how Jess pulls it off."
Locking eyes with the drink for a few seconds. "Ah what the hell. It's been a while, lets see what your 'creation' is made of, hmm? I'll give it a shot."
Brandon entered the lounge, looking remarkably better than he had during the earlier meeting aboard Sparta Station. Besides changing his clothes a hot shower had done wonders to making him feel vaguely human again. Spotting both Finn and Rachel he waved before going to the bar to get a drink. Returning to the group Brandon held up his drink, a gin and tonic, towards Finn. "Quite the extensive project you have going on here.". He paused again and gulped down a healthy measure of his drink before leaning closer to the other two and hurriedly whispering. "The package has been secured."
