There are no justifications. RP wise, it was DM railroading with no justifications whatsoever - since the war was basically still stalemating and there was no reason to let up on the front from the Rheinland side (any more than at any other point up til that, anyway).
Oorp wise, Rheinland lawful official factions weren't consulted, so much as just told, and most of us objected to it (see previous point).
All it did do was cripple already dwindling Rheinland activity, along with the unnecessary and unwanted recent ID overhauls that nerfed all interhouse gameplay
Remowal of Rheinland-Liberty lane connection, has same origins, as enlonged way from Alpha to Gamma.
Groupe of players, might even envolve offical factions, were intensevly complaining about constant raids envolving cap ships. Nobody saw better, than taking both parties away from each other, like parents gettings thier kids into seperate rooms, if they can't play together in pease.

Blame the Devs.
They also moved our MOX from New Berlin to Koeln, almost blowed up Dresden, crippled Munich and nerfed the Rheinland cruiser. To be honest, i'm not looking forward to the next update because i can imagine what comes next.
