I understand your point of view and i like how you mention that we can use /fm and /pm to mention if
we loose connection etc.. i think that's a good idea.
but also put in consideration that in-order to evade all this disconnection problems then the entire
world must run fiber optics lol

Lag - "Screw this ION interference"
Gank - "Damn it. Sending whole fleet after me."
Needs to Log Off quickly - "Internal damage. Returning to base for good"
Needs to Log Off ASAP - *suicides*

"DISCONNECTED" thread, there is a reason admins open those threads (or mark it as important), not just to stare at it, np np )))
I'm very active poster on that thread in-fact ....
In my country we had a major problem of electricity spikes and cut for few years
so i was posting and still posting there as much as possible

Yeeah wasn't directed to you )) but see it ain't that hard right? You can take 1 - 2 mins of your time and post there instead of those unnecessary "//" in local and system chats, it wont kill you.

You don't recive messages or send any in real time, all ships go away from you fast and in a random direction. IF the lags doesn't return again, and again, and again...
To understand a matters background, the sideffects is one thing, but that doesn't automatically mean you also have to approve it.
It's also a question of the respect one feels for other players how he deals with a situation, and interrupting other players game-experience just b/c of fearing to get sanctioned is simply selfish and ignorant - to me.
About the, often lacking, knowledge of the english language I just can say, if a player wants to play here it's simply a MUST to have sufficient knowledge of the servers standard language - if you don't just don't play here.
That may sound hard, but it's a problem I run into every single day I play here and it really annoys me, also that just too many (new) players log on to the server without ever having visited the website, haven't read the rules, have no idea what Discovery represents etc. - and often enough also just don't care at all.
But as I'm usually a kind and helpful person I always try to tell them what they should know, as far as I believe to know better, or at least point them where to read about so that we all can have fun.
About reporting, in most cases, I think, is a respectful made comment via PM much more successful than just reporting them - in particular as Discovery is a pretty complex kind of mod/community that often enough owerwhelms the ones that play here, not just newbies .
These are my thoughts about the matter.
A lack the response for five too ten minutes is better for the roll play?
This user talks little to none english. If you find something wrong tell him.

That's because this game is bland and boring these days. All RP that is possible has pretty much been done at some point or another, fun interactions aren't as common as they used to be.
Yeah, someone sits in space for 2 hours hearing the same old "hey pilot, pirate at Texas JG, 2milordie, I'm a cop ima scan your cargo bay- uh oh you got 1 Cardamine pay 5 mil fine, engaging", so and and so forth, yeah, you can't blame them for striking up a small OORP conversation to break up the monotony. If you have a problem with this, either ask them to stop, if they do, great. If they don't, then either be a slight jerk and make a sanction report, or go away and find RP somewhere else.
What you shouldn't do, is come to the forums and complain about it, that rarely produces anything positive.
(08-31-2014, 09:59 AM)Blade Wrote: yes it ruins it that's not a personal problem, because it's beeing done in Local and System chat you newb.
It's definitely a personal problem. It doesn't bother me if someone starts OORPing next to me, for it to NOT be a personal problem, it has to affect everyone equally, which it doesn't. Some people get pissed when other people type // messages, and some people are perfectly fine with it, so it's a matter of personal choice.
(08-31-2014, 09:59 AM)Blade Wrote: I guess there would be no problem if everyone would just "/fm" and "/pm" instead. Since it's beeing done in Local and System chat, which everyone sees it and usualy it takes long until that sentence disappears and you're like "Ah, not again STOP ooRPing!".
It's not about 2 - 3 times, it happens alot and pretty much ruins the Roleplay.
Again, that's your personal view on it, I don't feel that way really.
Personally, I think if you REALLY let OORP talk get to you THAT much, then you're taking this game too seriously. Just calm down, and enjoy Disco as a fun game to relax with and have fun, instead of taking the game overly serious and acting like someone just kicked your puppy for doing something completely harmless to you.
Wtf , Sterling wtf even, I don't get what you're on, however. Seeing all the negative replies on having a voice chat in game clearly approved how people hate ooRP in chats. This is a perfect example. It ruins it, I made my point. Not only me though, there are others aswell. It isn't about "relaxing" and "having fun". The RP is actually that thing which is fun in this Mod and the server, just because it's "boring" doesn't mean you have to cross it.
Do you start to rob people because it gets boring to follow the rules by the law? No, because it will one day affect you the same way, you'll get robbed. <- Ok this example might be a lil too harsh, but you get what I mean in the end it's not about flaming on "//" but more like solve it somehow involved inRP like Snak3 mentioned. ION Interferrence, *Suicides*, Internal Damage, returning to base immediatly.

I saw that in the past, people used to express it inside their RP than using "//" and it worked very well without any trouble.
