im sure tho a lot more have left or not bothered with making/staying in factions, because as soon as they logged, they always met the same hostiles in their routes, take for example the platinum| where are they now? gone, why? constant harassment from same hostile players, and then when they logged off, guess what, so do the hostile player. why?
player list
i dont think it'll kill the server at all, it'll give more freedom for factions to grow and enhance their groups, and so will the hostile factions, they would learn NOT to fly alone, they would then request to join a similar group in more forum RP, i mean how many active hostile groups fly in groups hunting?
that then will create more players that wish to escort said mining/trading factions
more groups, more interactions, more fun
so am i thinking right that at the moment its ok for player to look at the player list to log a hostile ship to engage, within a few minutes? to hunt them?

or should i log a ship in a few minutes to attack those that harrased me or my traders/miners etc?

Feel free, if they haven't caused you to have a PvP death that is.

The funny thing is, this change would benefit only people that want to avoid interactions - traders and miners. Lawfuls, unlawfuls and mercenaries would suffer due to complete lack of understanding where untagged ships can be and in the long term they would become obsolete and would have little to no reason to play.
no, i think that's wrong, it wont benefit just the traders/miners, think about it, a decent trader/miner faction would love interactions, same as any unlawful, isn't that what its all about?
but at the moment its HOW its done
and how metagamed its being done
you say, unlawfuls and mercs would suffer, why would that be? then dont fly alone, simple, join a group that does that if that's how you wish to play, that's what the forum is for, to ask, isnt that what the comms channel is for in the forum?

i agree say within 2 hours as in the rules and that a player must not log a ship etc to attack that hostile, but what about if player (a) logs a ship the next day with a house military?
I'll say it once again - if current playerbase was as high as in 4.85, I wouldn't have a problem with it. However, I would hate to fly 1 hour just to seek some interaction, and I believe most people would too.

How will they find those interactions, without the playerlist to guide them to activity?

Rather than pointing fingers at every encounter and calling it metagaming, can we have an actual example of metagaming? I have yet to see that.

How does that help? I can fly in an as large group as I like but that won't mean I can find interactions even more easily.
And I must also say, if traders and miners can trade/mine alone, why can't unlawfuls and mercs play alone too?

im not saying they shouldnt fly alone, play as you wish, but when its so obvious that players log just to attack using player list, as everyone knows alot of them do

What's the problem? I don't see one.
EXACTLY there isnt one, but sanctions are handed out because of that, and its all down to players watching player list
