Just proposing to not be disappointed in lowered activity and make that activty count for even more quality-wise.
I chose the words poorly.
Taking pot shots at the views of others is a form of hating.
And its on the players to determine when they will log and why, deleting the barges won't suddenly solve any sort of motivation issue with people being active or not.
I'd also like to say the Congress are quite active role players, and I've first hand accounts of RP experiences with the faction that have been of the utmost of quality.
If someone had made jumping a barge not possible, and gave them back a decent cruise speed (like say, 300) maybe Barges would see more use other than jumps. Inb4 inevitable rant about barge trading.
I flew a barge back when cruising was actually cruising, and it took over an hour and a half to get from Ontario to Texas. Longer when the pirates caught wind of the the giant payday flying around somewhere above the plane.
A Barge should need a Tug to move - if barges were tow-able, that would be cool - but I have no bloody idea how you'd code that.
I like the idea of more docking bays - for snubs and freighters.
That way non-lawfuls and corporations could deliver a fleet of snubs to a street-brawl, while simultaneously making the freighter class a heck of a lot more useful.
But only if 'carriers' actually carried the same number of ships, and there was a 'balanced' lawful (police/military) entity capable of doing so in return.

Also, a dev can chime in to verify, but I've heard using that Neph model presented a while back is no longer an option.
The two models Jinx offered as replacements for the current Zoner capital ships in order to convert them into transports are no longer available for use in the mod.
I still think using cashcows instead of Barge would be better, because they cannot go AFK for so long and they must use the lanes, where criminals are likely to interact with them. Plus moving through systems back and forth eight times instead of one, is more beneficial to overall server activity.
