A small team of salvage workers under my supervision have successfully extracted what we believe is the last piece of debris from the space around Invergordon Space Port. The amount of debris is large enough to attempt a reconstruction of this vessel instead of selling the remains off as scrap.
Visual and radar identification has supposedly confirmed the identity of the ship, which was an Ahoudori gunship. The reasons for it engaging the station are largely unknown, but we believe that it was a botched attempt at assassination on key members of the Junker Marauders by several Freelancers working for Independant Miner's Guild assets. There will of course be a thorough investigation will be held on the attack.
The attack itself was a suicide attack attempted by the pilot of this Ahoudori, who disengaged a cloaking device roughly 1400 meters from the station and begn to fire a mixture of Cerberus turrets and gunship-sized Razors in the direction of the station. The gunship itself was severely damaged almost instantly by the combined firepower of station defenses and muliple fighter wings in the area, but continued on a straight flight path towards the bar, where it crashed into the station before it exploded. The station suffered very little damage from the attacks and the explosion, although a few glasses were broken in the bar. Wreckage of the ship was collected for the past three days, and we have now successfully cleaned uo the debris as stated earlier.
The debris is being stored onboard a Salvager, awaiting shipment to one of our other installations for analysis and eventual reconstruction.
Well, I didn't think I'd ever stumble upon this old thing again.
The Salvager containing the debris of the gunship had been confiscated from my possession by the Libertonian authorities as part of the investigation for an attempted murder on my person that left me out of action for several months, and recently came back into my possession. The debris has gathered some dust over the course of multiple months, although the officers had told me that the ship had not been tampered with.
I have flown the vessel to the Texas system, and successfully docked it aboard our new modular station, Beaumont Spire. Mechanics onboard the station have been ordered to begin reassembly of the vessel, although space constraints onboard have hampered efforts.
We expect to have a fully reconstructed Ahoudori by the end of the month.
The Ahoudori has completed construction and is awaiting a maiden voyage from Beaumont Spire to Puerto Rico, where we can properly arm the vessel with weaponry. We had to cut some corners with the ship in terms of technology, as the computer mainframes were unsalvagable and as such we had to plug in our own, homebrew computer consoles, which do not match the efficiency of the Kusarian original. In addition, the engines will have to undergo replacement before it can leave the Spire. A spare Libertonian engine of Ageria design was found on the station, and we will use those as a substitute before we can properly outfit it with edge-worlds engines for maximum performance in it's intended deployment range, mainly Tau-23 to combat the reemerged threat of the IMG.
Our plans are to station 50 crewmen on the ship, although this will be likely to change, and it will be flown under the flag of the Junker Marauders. No Marauder has explicitly stated their interest in captaining the craft, except for one certain DeShawn Williams. I will continue to look out between now and the next three days for any other candidates for captain while they install engines on the craft.
The planned loadout is a mixture of Pulses and Razors, as this will likely see heavy action against snubcraft in the crowded fields of Tau-23. There are no plans for a name yet, but the mechanics have coined the ship "Bar Smasher" in reference to the accident which produced such a sizeable amount of wreckage.
We've run into a ton of delays on this project so far, and just today we found out that the engines were not wired correctly and were incompatible with the craft to begin with. This critical error ended in a catastrophic explosion that knocked out the rear half of the ship, killing two engineers that were under my command. On top of computer console incompatibility and Kusarian safety locks, this setback in particular will put us back by at least five days, as we scramble to discover any other conflicts in the vessel and repair the rear half.
I'd continue this entry, but I've got to get working, as I've two spots to fill while we request an additional team of engineers and workers.
