The Dragon Cruiser with it's forward gun will never be very good against GBs or small cruisers, cause it can't be good vs both big ships and smaller ships.
Pair of dragon gunboats with their medium powerplant and forward gun, should be able to kill a Kusari Destroyer. I know it cause once I got killed in my Cap 8 one by a VHF and one of these GBs.
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
Either I suck at capital ship flying, or you're all crying without grounds. I was soloed by a Bret Dessie, and then later, taken out by a pair of Sabres with Infernos and Nukes.
If I have any gripe with the Dessie, it's the abundance of armor. Take the Bergelmir for example.
It's tiny. But also has 21k armor. It also is remarkably SLOW. The reasoning behind this, is that it's a small, compact bit of metal with a huge plant. This makes the agility low. I would opt for that to happen to the Kusari Dessie. Either reduce the agility somewhat, to reflect the Size:Armor ratio, or add agility and reduce armor. Reducing armor might actually be the logical choice.
Updated? Updated what? What did you update? There's nothing showing that you updated anything? There's nothing to update.
On Topic: I've fought against, and flown, the Kusari Destroyer. With that out of the way, I can say it is a real pain to hit in pretty much anything. QCP took one out with three bomber while being pursued by a GB and several fighter/bombers; so even under fire, the thing can be destroyed.
But, It's incredibly hard to hit and small. And the model / skin can be scaled up. And that the original designers of the game didn't plan on making the capital ships flyable. "It's Vanilla" doesn't hold water in this case, as I'd like to assume that the original developers would have balanced it against it's counterparts (Other cruisers) better.
The thing needs to be scaled up, and given a modicum of rear-facing firepower. Right now it's a very VERY good ship. If a snubjockey like me can jump into the thing and kill a small patrol with relative ease, it's a bit overpowered.
I'd propose giving it a 20% size increase, keeping everything else the same agility & armor wise, while giving it 4-5 rear-firing turrets instead of the current two.
Or just leave it untouched, as it appears to be fine as it is right now.
If flown right its hard to kill, but 2 Bombers and its a VERY easy prey, Just stay in the back and dont let it turn...
