Well, bases die if they are not maintained, so the fact that there are more bases than players seems to indicate that there are a lot more "obsessive compulsive" players than normal well adjusted players like you. The fact that they like doing it is arguable I suppose. I don't imagine people would do something they don't like.

i think its more not willing to let all the effort that went into building the station go to waste.

i bet most of the bases are supplied by a single individual, and after they supply, they log off.

completely enslaved by it, never having the will to play the game due to the life being sucked out of them. I actively watched this happen to Bowex. slow crippling deterioration after kings cross was built, the stress of having it seiged, having to make people supply it who perhaps would rather have done other things.

supplying the base becomes another chore to do. games arent supposed to be chores.

Honestly, after playing EVE online again for the last few months, I have to say that Discos POB maintenance is laughable at best.

You don't know anything about station defense and maintenance until you have a POS in a Class 4 wormhole in EVE.

I disagree, Saronsen. My experience is limited, but Omi and I maintained a POS or two in a C2 wormhole. Not quite a C4, but still. While perhaps there's more danger (not so much in a C2 which really isn't all that sought after), maintenance is a lot more.. comfortable. If you want, you can make one trip to 'the market' and buy two weeks worth of fuel, or more.

It's a whole lot more work in Disco to prep a base to last a week or two without your interference.

Simply put, this is one of those things EVE does far better than Disco, honestly.

By the way, this thread was about jumpdrives once upon a time, and an excellent solution to the problem - if it is viable, flhook-wise - was offered a couple pages ago (:

Haven't read this whole thread yet, but from what I've seen I have a question. Should the admins consider reinstating the fleeing 10k away from attacker and you're dead rule? Not suggesting it, just throwing it out there to gauge response to this possible option.

Heck no! Never liked it in the first place. Not at all fair to punish bad PvPers with "death or death" as their only options.

Never thought I'll say such, but BW kinda have a point, if JD caps are this much of a problem, they could just become priority targets, take them out first, and they'll won't come back. Also, let's not get back to the times when even fleeing from combat was considered PvP death, please.

Also, if you guys are getting fed up with TX jumpers, how about you just join Magellan/Leeds brawls? Afaik neither the BAF side, nor the GRN side does jumpfleeing.
