I never gave Yuri a name for it, so he just called it the 'Trident'. I typed up the infocard today, which lists it as the Outcast Estoc-class GM-3 Gunship. Estoc is an archaic word for a thrusting sword, the size of a two-handed broadsword but with a lighter blade that narrows down significantly from the base of the hilt to the point.

How about "Tridente"? Spanish for trident. It looks a whole lot more like a trident than an Estoc.

Estoc doesn't actually sound that cool in my opinion. At least, not for a masculine, powerhouse-of-a-ship. Maybe for a sleek, skinny little intercepter, but not for this beast;)
And don't forget:
Quote:3) Discovery lead designer (a.k.a Igiss) reserves a right to:
- Change name of the ship submitted;
- Change its description;
- Change/add hardpoints;
- Change sur file, if it does not match the model;
- Change code;
- Change selling location.
Haggling over names is a petty thing, which means that the end is in sight!
Edit: That may have been a little unclear. I mean that the model is close to being finished, not that the world is going to end:P
The model will probably be finished tomorrow, but as far as I'm concerned it's my ship, fewl, Caglar, you're spamming, and this IS a sleek little interceptor. This ship is small and light, not the 'beast' you've described. We wanted a fighter killer, not a mini-Destroyer like that godawful Man-Purse. We could rename the Man-Purse trident...
And maybe our ideas of what 'cool-sounding' is are different, because Trident, to me, sounds like something out of a bad sci-fi movie.

I wanted "Tridente". This is a super-sized and super-powered Sabre. I was talking about something like the Arrow as a small and sleek interceptor, not a gunship bigger than a freighter.
I'm mostly basing the name on looks, not coolness in comparison to SciFi movies. The point I tried to make earlier was that though it's your ship, the name of it is not necessarily your decision in the end. The name needs to fit for everyone if we want to have a top-notch mod. An oversized pushpin (which is what an estoc is; it has no cutting edge, just a pointy end) is not what I think of when I look at this ship. I think of a trident with barbed ends.
