Edit, watching that again... its a bit big isn't it? could you show in another vid the orca next to it, given that oit is based around the same design principles.
It needs to be a tad more manuverable as well, at least as fast as the rogue.
I watched the movie, and it looked like there were a bunch of guns on it. Seemed like it must've been 8. Were you just testing the firing arcs of all of the different gun positions?
6 turrets there, and yes, in the beginning it was a test showing that they don't fire in all directions, they do have limited arcs, bottom turrets have bottom hemisphere coverage though but that's how it should be. I don't do stuff that is unbalanced (as regards general-purpose ships, nomies including), thorough testing is a necessity at everything I make.
Hm. Gezza was saying as large as it is it should get another turret or two, or even a forward gun (and he's actually flown the damn thing -.- ) Thoughts?

I've often found forward firing 'special' guns on gunboats to be of minimal use, the Orca is a prime candidate of that.
However, while doubtlessly hopelessly unbalanced, a standalone forward 'cannon' with a very high energy cost as opposed to a slightly more powerful gun would be lovely.
What about one directly forward of the cockpit, a little bit before where it starts to narrow? It puts it in line with the other guns, and it should fit, since the pontoons in that area are literally just elongated versions of the main hull...I think two more guns or a forward gun is excessive, but another additional gun would even things out nicely; you still have the coverage from the other six but now you can mount a missile or even a razor (if you're insane), or just another Solaris, without disturbing the normal loadout? I think that compensates for the size issue...

Bad idea to put it in front of cockpit. Just gonna look stupid that it takes whole view space in front of the ship by looking from the cockpit. And here is the thing: you didn't really thought of that when you did the model, so it doesn't have space left for turrets. I could add a platform for a turret below the nose of the body or something to the model, but it ain't gonna look nice. Doh.
What about expanding the piece that connects the wing-strut-thingies to the projection from the bottom of the ship? We coould make it wider and fatter, then concave it a bit on both ends and turn it into an engine bank, too. That wouldn't necessitate a full retexture or anything too effort-consuming, would it?
