We coould make it wider and fatter, then concave it a bit on both ends and turn it into an engine bank, too. That wouldn't necessitate a full retexture or anything too effort-consuming, would it?
It will affect both model and hitbox, with the latter I'd rather not to touch with a ten feet pole unless absolutely necessary. Though, perhaps I'll do that. Gotta think.

p.s. that piece you are referring to is currently called a "leg" in terms of ship components.

--- Edited. Only saw it was a custom hitbox now.

It shouldn't affect the hitbox by more than a couple of units, would it? I mean, if I remember correctly the height difference between the end of the bottom of the leg and bottom of the keystone-thingy is about three units...The difference will probably be unnoticeable, and the very fact that we have a working custom hitbox is quite remarkable. Changing it seems unnecessary, as the volume and distribution of the ship is not even noticeably changing...

EDIT: Linkus, backread, please, we did make a custom hitbox...Yuri is going to get his name up in lights for it, too, if I have anything to say about it...

*chuckles* Why not just hollow out the nose a bit and slap the forward firing gun in there? Like a mini torp tube.

A huge rotating cannon mounted onto the ship is going to look a little odd on the design anyways.

Just a thought.

(And not a very good one at that, granted.)

Or carve a slot into the top of the nose and put an Inferno cannon in it. only 30 degree firing arc, of course.

Watch the clip, notice the size of the turrets they take, at least their basement. A surface to place them at should have enough space, otherwise it'll look incredibly ugly.

No, not a turret, a gun.

Fighter inferno?

With the crazy powersupply GBs have?

Not going to happen.

Agreed. I pandied around an Inferno Forward Gun for a little while but eventually ruled it out as ineffective. Shields come back, and Mjolnir is correct, a Fighter Inferno would be ridiculously overpowered...
