Yes, the one and only thing that was disturbing me here was the "reason" for the Cambridge raids.
I just fail to see why
a) smugglers would reveal where their delivery goes
b) said smugglers would call in a fleet (because that's what it is when an Osiris with escorts pops up and states "Let my ally go.")
c) Corsairs are using the afore-mentioned incident as an excuse to "siege" Cambridge
d) during their raids, said Corsairs are asking my BPA character to allow medical support shipments from Cambridge to Crete. Guys, Joshua is a mere policeman. Even if he was dumb enough to openly support an enemy, he is in no position to allow such things.
Anyways, since we already have that situation now, let's make the best out of it.
As chopper and Mjolnir stated, Bretonia can use that activity. It'd be nice to see the QCRF play a role as well since (again, Mjolnir said it) the BPA can not fight against anything.
If the Corsairs keep bringing cruisers, well, my interaction with them will be limited to "Corsairs sighted! Oh no, a Cruiser! Retreating, it's a job for the Royal Fleet!".
Oh, and by the way, Mjolnir: right now the BPA has a total of three bombers, one of them is unused, one is being set up (and thus unused as well).
You've not gone up against the bret bs, have you? those things are monsters.
Moreover, to the point where we're a bit upset: Nobody told us. Fine, dandy, wonderful raid, guys. Sure, its poor military strategy to warn the enemies, but we didn't expect it in rp. We expected a couple PMs, or a thread, here, on the forums, talking about you're intentions to roll into cambridge with a bloody fleet. We'd have been glad to see you. As it is, Not only were we ill prepared for the fight, which would have happened anyway, but we had no idea there was a fight, until someone else came and told us. Its a difficult balancing act, keeping players in mind while RPing..but as marauder said, we haven't seen much rp go into this.
Let it go, it was (i think) spur of the moment, which sometimes is the best RP. The only person to get hurt by this was a trader who had his ego bruised. While a forum post after the fact (like the Order vs. Liberty thread) would have been cool, it isn't required. Ingame RP > Forum RP. I don't expect the Corsairs or CR to tell RoS when we're getting attacked, and I don't tell them when they're getting attacked outside of events.
I love this. people keep saying if the corsair's want to bring cruiser's CRUISER's plural. we had 1 cruiser/1 GB that came in latter on. the rest were bomber's/fighter's.
BPA called in 2 yes 2 cruiser's, 1 a B cruiser. we were outgunned for a time,since i took on both in my "1" cruiser.Maybe i was lucky to win/maybe i just out flew them/maybe i had better load out who know's. I do know that i was down to 2 tick's of armour "only" after i killed both.I call that very even.
I think the BPA are just miffed they have lost 2 fight's now to the Corsair's/OPG.

I was a part of the bretonia defence many,many month's ago,and i hated it. We sat there all day doing nothing,but scanning trader's from Theta with ORG's. You would think the "new" bret forces would like a little action.Yes i said new,because 4-6 month's ago they did not exist.Bret was SF terratory.
I will say it now(sorry OPG) but if you do not want to fight us then fine.I will not bring my cruiser,or any other ship up against the Legal's in Bret space.I will stick to pirating/killing NPC's. You can all go back to scanning cargo ship's,and die from lack of fun.You are a small part of Disco,lots of other's will play with us,while you play with yourselves.:(:sleep::(

Now that's the attitude to take, bravo sir. The BPA have stated so many times that they relish the chance for some RP in Cambridge, and would welcome the OPG to invade any day of the week, provided it's backed up with good RP, not the flimsy justification that's been given so far. This thread is not about "OMFG OPG invaded!" it's "Why did the OPG invade?"

Ryoken, what I said was no offense against you in any way. I said "Cruisers" (yes, plural, I know) because there was not only your cruiser but a wide variety of capital ships, including the so-called Handbags, your Cruiser and a Battleship (Osiris = battleship, right?) during the last days.
Now, while I personally think that anything above a gunboat is a tad exaggerated, it would make sense, RP-wise, since we are, as stated oh so often, at war.
What I said above is that I will certainly not try to fight anything above a gunboat in my Hussar. Period.
It would be illogical; a Hussar is great against fighters and can (in swarms) be used against Gunboats. But the BPA is not an organization full of kamikaze-fighters, so, yes, I would retreat.
So, to conclude, my previous post wanted to say: We really would like to RP with you. Unfortunately we cannot do that if you keep bringing capital ships every single time you come to Bretonia. The bounty hunters you mentioned are our way of expressing the thought "please, not that many capships!".
Note: this is of course only true in the current state of Bretonia with the rather inactive QCRF. Royal Fleet support could turn the tables and we would, of course, fight with them.
First up, if you think playing is mass engagements then surely the PvP server is the place to be.
Tonight, given the events of yesterday evening, once unfriendlies appeared on scanners, I notified the QCRF. That was part of my gesture towards RP after yesterday. Okay, I thought, we'll assume this attack on Cambridge is going to be part of the RP for a while - make the most of it.
However, there was no blockade of Cambridge, just one Red Corsair in magellan(doing god only knows what; a raid, a blockade, a siege???), and one non-faction corsair LF who just wanted a fight. Oh he did say "make me" when I asked him to leave. The momentum behind this drive for "important medical equipment" was so powerful, it ended within one day.
And by the way, this is over access to the Cryer base. Am I right in assuming that because Cryer are enemies of criminals and friendly to Bretonian companies that they wouldn't even dream of supplying the corsairs?
And as other BPA people have already said, we dont care about losing fights. The constant "pwned" appearing on the comm channel whenever a lawful was downed during the fight should give some flavour of how much Rp was going on. I mean to say "pwned" is internet language right? You don't see criminals shouting "pwned" in the Sopranos, right? I am a fan of RP, not shoot'em up games. I got the distinct feeling that RP was not the priority yesterday. I mean to say, this thread is the only thread that deals with the attack, and it was started by a BPA member!
All of which should not deter the corsairs from coming to cambridge again. Be warned though. You will all be arrested if you carry on this lawlessness. This is terrorism, not organised crime. Perhaps some time in our prison ships will make you reconsider your approach. And the idea of corsairs expanding into bretonia - you're kidding about this being territorial in a national sense, surely it's about markets for your vile and disgusting alien artifacts. What if we closed Cryer down completely to EVERYONE and blamed the corsairs. The letters you'd get...
but then you dont technically (in game-terms) need traders to afford your coooool ships and cooool guns. It's all in your imaginations. Yep, all of it. The whole potential of Discovery is in your head.
How about everyone who plays discovery has to play call of cthulhu first for a year before they're given a starblazer and set at neutral to EVERY faction but not allowed to dock. OR stop docking at bases, give everyone some start-up cash, one character only and let a natural market develop.
Either that or let's all go back to using the chainsaw in DOOM against stupid npc's and accept that computer gaming will only ever be about guns and virtual killing...

How is QCRF going to fight on two fronts? Will it affect the Kusari - Brettonia war?
Will KNF use the advantage and strike with full power?
I think police plays quite a roll here. Yes, in RP they are not meant to fight big-shots.
But, since the Brets are in war, police must help as well it seems.
This opens a number of possibilities which can be discussed here.

Probably not. QCRF is generaly offline unless its a major event....sadly.
As far as I'm aware, though, the QCRF has 2 active gunboats as its total force of capital class vessels.
