Athenian, I believe that it's mainly [OPG] that are doing this one- the rest of the Corsairs probably only know through this thread. Realize that there are almost as many indie corsairs as there are BHG, oftentimes for the same reasons-PvP abuse. Sad, really, but keep the context in mind.
Also, the Cryer base above Cambridge is more of a Nomad research facility at this point- however, Cryer really has no morals (they made their money getting people hooked on Synth Pot, remember?) as far as serving criminals, are actively hunted by Outcasts (making them partial to any deals with Corsairs), and would probably go for selling pharmaceuticals under the table as opposed to having them stolen at gunpoint with much loss of life. Just my .02$

Not true. People liked Synth, but weren't hooked. Pot isn't addictive.:P
They are currently doing research to counter addiction on Atka Research, and are hoping to cure Cardamine addictions. They just happen to sell pot on the side.
Thanks for the corrections. Knew it was something like that... the point stands though, they got their money being not-so-legal... why should that bind them now?
Because of their ID, and general lawful faction alignment.
If they were caught helping unlawfuls, lots of flak would get hurled at them. Cryer is first and foremost, trying to make money, not be humanitarian. Something like supplying Corsairs with antibiotics and other medicines right, plop center outside a major planet isn't exactly safe, or good for PR.

Tonight, given the events of yesterday evening, once unfriendlies appeared on scanners, I notified the QCRF. That was part of my gesture towards RP after yesterday. Okay, I thought, we'll assume this attack on Cambridge is going to be part of the RP for a while - make the most of it.
However, there was no blockade of Cambridge, just one Red Corsair in magellan(doing god only knows what; a raid, a blockade, a siege???), and one non-faction corsair LF who just wanted a fight. Oh he did say "make me" when I asked him to leave. The momentum behind this drive for "important medical equipment" was so powerful, it ended within one day.
And by the way, this is over access to the Cryer base. Am I right in assuming that because Cryer are enemies of criminals and friendly to Bretonian companies that they wouldn't even dream of supplying the corsairs?
And as other BPA people have already said, we dont care about losing fights. The constant "pwned" appearing on the comm channel whenever a lawful was downed during the fight should give some flavour of how much Rp was going on. I mean to say "pwned" is internet language right? You don't see criminals shouting "pwned" in the Sopranos, right? I am a fan of RP, not shoot'em up games. I got the distinct feeling that RP was not the priority yesterday. I mean to say, this thread is the only thread that deals with the attack, and it was started by a BPA member!
All of which should not deter the corsairs from coming to cambridge again. Be warned though. You will all be arrested if you carry on this lawlessness. This is terrorism, not organised crime. Perhaps some time in our prison ships will make you reconsider your approach. And the idea of corsairs expanding into bretonia - you're kidding about this being territorial in a national sense, surely it's about markets for your vile and disgusting alien artifacts. What if we closed Cryer down completely to EVERYONE and blamed the corsairs. The letters you'd get...
but then you dont technically (in game-terms) need traders to afford your coooool ships and cooool guns. It's all in your imaginations. Yep, all of it. The whole potential of Discovery is in your head.
How about everyone who plays discovery has to play call of cthulhu first for a year before they're given a starblazer and set at neutral to EVERY faction but not allowed to dock. OR stop docking at bases, give everyone some start-up cash, one character only and let a natural market develop.
Either that or let's all go back to using the chainsaw in DOOM against stupid npc's and accept that computer gaming will only ever be about guns and virtual killing...
Please understand that not all Corsairs are the same, the Brotherhood works very hard to keep things fun for both sides as do other Corsair factions, we have an abundance of independent Corsairs that make the whole lot of us look bad and its starting to pi** me off.
We have tried to talk to these independents but they just don't listen most of the time, short of us starting a civil war against them there is not much that we can do.
The Brotherhood has instigated some of the best RP events this server has had since ive been here ingame and on the forum and all of them where fair and fun for both sides and went on without one flame from anyway and no capwhoring insight.
Im sick of people making assumptions that all Corsair players are the same, as far as most people are concerned we all fly gunboats and cruisers and just go around PvP whoring the whole server without no RP whatsoever which is just plain wrong.
I would say 95% of all the players in TBH fly nothing bigger than a bomber 99% of the time, most of the time when we go on a massive attack we inform who we are attacking and what ships we are bringing so it can be a fun and fair fight but there is sometimes a need for a spur of the moment attack which is noway ooRP to do.
You might not have been around the last mod but there used to be a really good trade run from Cambridge to Theta, we used to be in omega 5 all the time and we used to run attacks on Bretiona all the time, always the RP that came out of that was excellent with the then BAF SF.
In short don't tar us all with the same brush and lets stop picking on this one event and make the next ones better? ...
But then that could give a huge RP opportunities for Corsairs,
and even give a reason to bring in a Cruiser.
Let's imagine I don't know what epidemic plague is threatening Crete. It would seem logical Corsairs are under pressure, and need to get as much as Pharmaceuticals as possible. So they ask the OTC, with which they have some shadowy connection, to get the Pharmaceuticals for them at the Cryer base. The BPA soon get suspicious of all this OTC activity, and one day find one with a Corsair ID. For some reason, he kind of forgot to use his cover identity.
Immediate consequence is that BPA tags the [OTC] as unwelcomed in Bretonia (which we did), which increase pressure on the [OTC] trader, and therefore on the Corsairs. Well, their families just keep dying on Crete and [OTC] cannot supply enough Pharmaceuticals.
I think such a situation would be far enough for Corsairs to take drastic measures. One day, they decide they need to hit strong, in order to get enough medecine for Crete.
They gather a whole fleet made of available corsairs, mainly the OPG and indies, and go to Cambridge, escorting some transports. They then order the base to fill up the transports with Pharmaceuticals, otherwise they will just blow it up with their Cruiser and the escorting fleet. Well, I guess in such a situation, the base would just fill up the Corsairs cargo, while calling Bretonia forces to the rescue.
Bretonia Forces, unaware of such a danger, came really disorganised and couldn't beat the Corsair Fleet when they engaged. They were beaten and had to retreat. The Corsairs just came back home victorious, with enough Pharmaceuticals for the next few days.
As said previously, I think the most important here is not what have been done/could have been done, but what we will be able to do out of it. Let's just use our imagination. According to this RP draft/attempt, the Corsairs will probably soon need to get Pharmaceuticals again, and will probably try to repeat their successful flash attack (and bring some transport ingame;)) But this time, BPA and QCRF will be watching them more closely, and the fight will probably be different. Corsair priority will be to secure their transports, Bretonia will want to get rid of that threatening fleet, I have no clue how they will act with transport.
Now in order to have some proper RP for Corsairs, be sure to stay a long time at the Cryer base, the time needed to convince the base to fill up your transport. That would also be nice if your transport could not cruise to the JH, simply fly to it or thrust.
For Bretonia to RP it correctly, we will have to gather a true fleet this time, taking the lesson from the previous battle. So we should wait till we got enough ship (//I am sure most of us are checking our sensors regularly even when not in our BPA/QCRF char to see if we have a new invasion), maybe send a scout to report if Corsairs are still here, or on the verge to leave, and then organize a proper response.
I truly think that could be great fun for both parties, and a very good RP event for Bretonia.
So again, if this thread could not go into recriminations anymore and just focus on what we could do out of that.
I would really like to have the Corsairs, or at least OPG, opinion on this idea. Others, you are of course also welcome to comment it, especially since they might be some flaws in it (it is my first attempt at Rping something like that).
Tell me what you think about it,

EDIT: Posted at the same time as Equinox, and fully agree with him. But could we stop quoting previous post from the others. I think it just make the guy who wrote the post to feel personnally attacked and encourage the flaming. And I of course don't say that for Equinox especially, but this thread is more and more taken personally, and that could make things turn ugly pretty soon.

Not all independents are too bad as well. I know I am flying a Titan, and I know at least 5 more indies flying a Titan and RP-ing pretty well.
It's true though, more then 50% of Corsair indies are there to pwnzor all around.
BHG indies are even worse (not all, of course, same thing like with the corsairs, there are always good guys).

I like the whole RP plan it sound's good. I myself will not be involved, and i will be trying to persuade other OPG to also stay away from bretonia. I think we will stay where people enjoy our RP like rheinland/kusari space, where we engage outcast/dragon milatary and such with out all the whining. We tried in bret and got dumped on.You will seldom see [OPG]Skullsplitter/[OPG]Skullsplitter_GB/[OPG]Skullsplitter_IIC around brte space anymore. If i do have a need to go there i will not engage in anymore PvP since that is what we have been acused of wanting. I am not angry,i am just dissapointed.Used to have lots of fun with the SF,but the BPA seem to be diff.So be it i am done there.Period end of disscussion.:(
