Dont know if this is relevant or not, but um,, maybe the factions should try to suck up the newcomers abit more?
Many indy players dont wanna be indyplayers but seem to have huge troubles getting into an Officiall faction.
That problem often comes with indys beeing new on the forum (read lost) altough i agree it should take a while to get warm in the clothes before applying so all is in order for proper manner etc, you all know what i mean.
How about the factions (that dont alreddy do it) starts to look for indies an present them with their faction ideology or try to make the indy player interested instead of waiting for lost indys to find them?
Maybe we all would have a more richer Sirius of we let people contribute
Just an idea from a humble indy sailor. (please dont kill me)
1) Downgrading the OP somehow. In this case saying it is just generalization.
2) Saying you are not the culprit and therefore everything is fine.
3) Oh and my absolute favorite of them all. "Oh look he is raging. Must be a personal issue." *Presses the ignore button*
To that I simply say:
1) yeah kk downgrade my point more. Yes i didn't give examples but I know you guys can think of things without me explicitly writing them down.
2) Good4U you get a disco-sticker. In all seriousness keep at it. You will help the community.
3) Not a personal issue of mine, though I have flown as an indy and the quality of RP to that of the same IFF but official tagged was lower.
This is like a .... how do you call it.... Public Announcement of Awareness?
Yeah.
This thread I did IS NOT INTENDED TO NAME CALL ANYONE but IT IS INTENDED TO RAISE AWARENESS of an issue. Ok? Everyone happy and not on the defensive anymore or am I gonna get more downgraded for this?
Sheesh.... you say one thing to be good hearted.... NOPE you are obviously butt-hurt. Yeah. Totally...

THey order us to help. And when they don't need it, then giving you order to get away from him. Also i saw 1 RM cruiser who scanned me and then told me: "Get lost, you're clear". That was strange.
Official military factions RP a chain of command, as they are supposed to look like a military. Thus the orders. But yes, the orders should rather be formulated as "Can you do that please?" than "You must do this and that". The prior are more likely to be obeyed too.
About ordering players not to interfere, though. There is a thing called ganking. It means that a lot of players attack a few players, or players with inferior ships, thus giving them no chance of victory, no fun and no reason to come back to pew next time -- and thus neither can have fun next time. If you are ordered not to interfere in a fight, it's for a greater good. You should stay there in reserve, watch, and be ready to jump in if you are asked to. Or, well, you can just jump in at the start, contrary to the orders, but then your comrades might abandon you and leave you alone to the enemy.
About that RM cruiser: some people tend to be jerks on the internet. That's mostly because you can't punch them through a wire. The species inhabits Disco too, unfortunately, and it is hard to prevent the blighters from feeding off from someone's annoyance.
Dude. Chill. Just because everyone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean they are out to degrade you. You made this thread, you're going to get the opinion of other people on the matter. You've accomplished your purpose, people are thinking about the matter obviously since you are seeing responses. You accomplished your goal, merely watch from here.
What if I say that while a tag means your actions can be connected with a person or a group a tagless name is just a tagless name and can disappear after a day?
What if I say that indies cannot be held liable to their actions just as easily as everybody else?
What if I say many know this, exploit this, and by their action they provide a negative image of what indies in general are?
What if I say that many who may treat indies badly have had bad experiences in the past, and you know, can't really make a difference between one tagless name and an other?
I'm curious whether you have thought of these things before posting or not.

Im perfectly chill "dude". See below why I could be not chill.

Yeah I have. Im not blindly posting without doing my research and thinking it through.
basically what you are saying partially is: "Someone else treated me wrong and therefor they are all bad" and also "They cannot be held accountable and therefore they dont matter."
They DO matter. Just becasue they cannot get properly FR5ed or doesn't fit into your RP importance doesn't mean you can brush them away. Like seriously basically it is like "Oh look I cannot make diplomatic relations with you so I'll just treat you like crap since you have less influence in the game anyway and cant harm me."
Yes Official Factions have more power than an individual. That doesn't mean they should be TREATED IN RP like poop. Get what I am saying or no?
Just because he's a mod doesn't mean he's not allowed to express his opinion.
Why bother making this thread in he general discussion section? You're a faction leader, you could've put it in the faction leaders section if this is a message to the faction leaders. Hell, you could've just made your point on skype in OFL chat.
Otherwise, this thread seems poorly though out and far to vague and generalizing to hold much value. When people try to raise awareness of something, they are often specific.

It's in some factions RP to treat indies at a different level. You know, primary fleets? Secondary fleets? And so forth.

Wrong.
I was saying that the difficulty in differentiating them results in generalization, and that should be taken into account if you are an indie and getting treated badly.
I also never said that they don't matter, rather that they can avoid consequences of their actions more easily than everybody else (as long as they stay within the scope of server rules of course).
Seeing how the rest of your post seems to be based on those two false interpretations or wrongly drawn conclusions, it seems to be moot.
