Our groups have certainly been on awkward terms in recent months. I hope for that to change with a proposal that I personally spoke to one of your pilots about.
As you have heard, Core has had a great interest in Planet Nauru for years now. Whilst my predecessors claimed they had successfully removed the hydrogen sulphide from the atmosphere which had plagued the planet, recent probes have suggested otherwise. Some sites which are areas of interest for us stand within highly concentrated pockets of hydrogen sulphide, beyond that of safe levels. The terraformers which we have are unfortunately not fully capable of dealing with this issue, thus we were wondering if your group, which I do believe does research into terraforming, would have any idea how we may be able to solve this problem. We hope someday to open up Nauru as a paradise to the denizens of the Edge Worlds, however this cannot be achieved if parts of the planet are still hostile.
Anyway, your pilot did ask what sort of compensation Canaan would reccive for helping us in this endeavour. As your pilots are aware, we also partake in some research of our own. We'd be willing to give you some research materials if you help us. Furthermore we may also allow you to freely transport these materials throughout the Omicrons, as your pilots have voiced upset when caught with them by our officers. If Canaan helps us solve our Nauru issue, we may be willing to turn a blind eye - however only if Canaan agrees to also share their future research with us.
I await your response.

True, the Canaan Project has not always met your men on good notice - or good behaviour at times.
Anyhow, your proposal sounds tempting. However we’ll have to make a proper assessment of the situation of Nauru first. Preferably with a few of your researchers as well. There must be a reason for the sudden reappearance of these HS-pockets and I am quite curious of what it is, as well.
And of course, your offer that your associates will not bother us when hauling our research materials is quite attractive as well.
As of now, I can’t give you a specific “yes” or “no” answer, but be aware that we are interested.
I will await your response, so we can establish a meeting in space to have a closer look on Nauru to maybe figure something out.
I am glad to hear that you have responded to our communication. We can allow for a small team of researchers to vist one of these pockets. We are restricting the amount of visitors to Nauru currently, as there is a small Corsair presence still on the planet, as well as our desire to secure the ruins.
If possible, we can meet at Yaren and discuss this further.

The neural net crashed caused much of our transmission to be lost. Fortunately, I had backed it up.
Erik Nodtviet Wrote:Ms. Calvo,
The laws have been updated to accommodate your organization. Once again, thank you very much for helping us with our issue.
Maria Calvo Wrote:Loud machinery and people talking loudly can be heard in the background
Greetings, Mr. Notdviet.
As you can probably hear right now, things are going rather well.
In the last 2 days, we managed to open another 3 vents. I also told some of your men on Nauru that they can already start the construction of the filters on the first vent. The work there should start soon, depending on the moral of your workers.
She chuckles a little, then she turns over to the side, yelling
Okay, everyone! Did the Planetcracker arrive? Good, you know the drill, get it up and started.
She turns back to the camera
Again, I want to thank you for this opportunity.
She smiles lightly
It has been... fun... to operate on a proper planet, after only theorizing about the reactions on the drawing boards.
Not to mention that we can finaly focus on our research and don't have to worry about getting fined for our materials.
She looks at her datapad in her hand
Also, we have actually noticed some lucky movement under the surface. It seems some of the underground lakes are connected to pockets on other locations. So, our first assumption of this operation taking about a year just shortened by an enormous amount.
So, according to the data we have now, it should about take two months or so.
Anyway, until the operation is done or something else shows up, I suppose you'll not hear from us through the neural net, since there's just routine going on.
Until then, I wish you safe skies.
Erik Nodtviet Wrote:Ms. Calvo,
This is excellent news. Truly, I picked the right people to solve this issue. And the discovery of another underground lake will certainly help us with gathering water amidst the climate of Nauru.
On the subject of the vents, by chance may you and your team be able to oversee the creation of geo-thermal power stations? Whilst we already make use of the sun to create solar energy, another source of energy - one from the planet itself - would be highly beneficial to our operations. Solar energy can only go so far. The more power we have at our disposal, the better the developments on the planet will be.
I'm not entirely sure if that comes under the sort of work Canaan partakes in, but if it does we can look into some further compensation for your efforts.

Now where could she have left those notes...
He notices that her comm was still switched on.
Talk about energy-saving...
He reads over the latest conversations and stops at the most recent one: "Core - Erik Nodtviet" He quickly reads listens to the comm, and notices for how long the guildmaster has been waiting for an answer and starts to massage his temples. He lets out a sigh.
She never has been the most reliable...
Alex sits down to respond to the comm
Greetings guildmaster,
I'm terribly sorry for the delayed answer. You might be wondering why I am answering your comm instead of miss Calvo. Well she is in Coronado now. Appearently she didn't let you know before leaving.
Well it looks like I'm the one in charge right now so I'm going to handle the matter from now on. To answer you question, yes it would be possible to get some geothermal energy out of Nauru. We could handle that no problem. The only thing is that we will need some more materials to do so. If you can take care of that we will be just fine.
Now since I'm rather new to the project I will have to work myself into the matter a little. In any case, please direct any further questions to me.
He nods towards the screen, then ends the transmission.
Sapphire Raven Wrote:Mister Carter,
Ironically, likewise to your instance, I shall be responding in place of Guildmaster Nodtviet, due to his recent departure.
Of course we can obtain materials needed. But my query to your statement is, what resources do you exactly require and the quantity of it?
Alex Carter Wrote:Glad to make your acquaintance, Guildmaster Raven.
I see you are also sure enough of yourself to ensure us the materials we need before even knowing the quantity and sort of materials we need.
Your ambition is remarkable.
He chuckles.
Either your ambition or your trust in your faction. Either way - good qualities for a leader.
Let's get down to business, shall we? For our power plants we will need the following materials:
2000 units of Robotic hardware
1000 units of Basic alloy
1500 units of Iridium
1500 units of Mining machinery
There is no particular deadline, but if you want us to make progress it might be kind of mandatory.
Ending the sentence a smile plays his lips.
Alright then, I'm counting on you.
Sapphire Raven Wrote:Mister Carter,
Of course, I'd be lying if I didn't say if APM was the most dependable and the most effective logistics corporation. To not have access to the utmost fundamental of resources would mean APM, as a whole, would fail. Failure will not be tolerated. I'm here to ensure that we are guaranteed a successful outcome. What APM could do, can do and will do. Where others fail, we succeed.
Now, I digress.
Indeed, these listed resources are easily obtainable for us, as such, I shall assign some transports to arrange pick-up for tonight. However, they shall consign the materials at a depot bay on Yaren, which is where a cargo dropship will be loaded and sent whenever you are ready to signal it.
The pilots of the transports will send a notification relay to this channel to let you know when the batch is ready. The signal code is as following:

Alroight, pilot Jedd Beer of the APM-Victory 'ere, we managed to gather the materials you sent us. Though, we should note that the Mining Machinery shipment wus pretty late due some feffin' Hessian Cruiser in Omega-11 tryin' to batter us up n' all, oofh! Anyway, all the deliveries 'ave been made. The lads in the loading bay have already started to stock up the dropship. Should be ready by the time this report comes through to the 'uppers desk.
Deliveries one and two

The dropship is ready. All down to you now.
Alex Carter Wrote:Guildmaster Raven,
I see you are a woman of actions, so it is also thanks to you that progress has been steady on the Nauru construction sites.
He points over his shoulder, where the red surface of Planet Nauru can be seen to further emphasize the location.
Since we have already pinpointed the locations of multiple hot springs we could already start the construction on several geothermal power plants. Up to this point everything is going smoothly - well almost everything.
He sighs.
I've got a report of an accident on site Gamma-3 - sector blue. It says that one of the workers impropperly opened one of the temporary seals which resulted in discharge of the pressure that built up undergound. As a result of this action multiple other workers and one of our supervisors suffered severe burnings that they were gladly able to treat for the moment. Right now they are classified as stable and out of danger, but not exactly in the shape to work. I could give orders to transport them to the nearest medical facility with the present ships, but that may delay the progress on that particular site even more - we're talking months here.
Sould I not hear anything from you I will tell them to do just that - if you should prefer an alternative you can contact our supervisor at the site.
He streches himself.
Apart from that little incident everything is just going fine and dandy.
I'll be contacting you once there are further news from the sites.
Until then,
Sapphire Raven Wrote:Mister Carter,
Ensure that no more of these 'minor mistakes' are to occur in the future, as this will seriously hinder the work progress. Not does this hinder development for us, but development for everyone else on Nauru.
What would seem a simpler solution to the unfitting people of the workforce is that we can provide some of our workers to assist you in the project. However, a squadron will be accompanying with the APM workteam to secure the site. Unfortunately, we don't wish to allocate our resources spread all over the area as we wish to maintain stabilisation and have other projects that require attention.
But surely, if your workforce is stabilised, then they are ready to work. The longer they spend healing, the longer it'll take for them to finish. Once they are done, obviously they have the luxuary of resting. If they're not up for it, then I shall allocate the assigned group to your location, and our view upon your depency for success shall decrease. I'll await your response.
Sapphire Raven Wrote:Greetings, Guildmaster
I will try my best to avoid such accidents in the future, though I cannot assure things like that since they are out of my direct control - our bodies may have been enhanced but even we can't split ourselves... yet.
He chuckles.
Your support in this matter is appreciated. You sending over some staff to assist at the site will surely speed things up and everything will be up and running over there in no time.
If you should wish to replace our people with yours you can feel free to do so, I doubt that they would be physically or even mentally able to work our tech.
Anyway, we're expecting your people in about 72 hours from now.
Erik Nodtviet Wrote:Greetings Mr. Carter,
In my absence, Guildkeeper Raven assumed my duties. Now that I have returned from my expedition in the Edge Worlds, I am resuming control of the Core.
I hope those staff arrived, as we have not heard a response from you. What is the progress of the injured currently? How are they doing?
I would like to be informed of this current status of our project as soon as possible and be brought up to speed.
I await your reply.

I'm sorry for my lack of response, but I refrained from bothering you until there is something substantial to contact you about.
Naturally we patched up all of the staff and got them up and running again. Furthermore the substantial stage of the terraoptimizing is close to completion in most of the facicilies on Nauru - the rest of them is a little behind schedule, but almost at the same stage. We will be ready to move on to the next stage shortly.
It will involve importing various pieces of selected fauna into biodomes that we are preparing to set up, but we will discuss that as soon as the time has come.
If there are certain instructions we will have to take into consideration while proceeding, do not hesitate to send them our way.
On a sidenote: I hope your return went smoothly and re-acclimatized well.
Excellent, I'm glad to hear you are making more progress. And yes, my return is going smoothly so far.
If you could describe the fauna that you require for the biodomes, we can begin to make preparations to get it delivered. On another note, we're finally beginning to start the construction of a Docking Ring. Hopefully that should allow transit onto the Planet to be much easier, as well as bolstering Nauru's defences.
