Snake it sounds like that you are complaining about this purely one one basis... because if something gets a docking ring without the help of Ageira, it cant be cannon and thats because your faction has lost some RP. Now that in itself can be pretty annoying but do correct me if I am wrong.
Personally I am all for people being able to express and use their ideas, even if they may conflict slightly. Would be good if they can then provide a possible plausible reason for this, at least showing they have thought about it.
Also hypothetically it would be possible to scrap existing jumpgates and docking rings to obtain said parts.
Think HF did some RP about that.
[15:51:00] Luc E-W: and if you're hostile to all possible parties that could get you a docking ring, why is that a problem?
[15:51:13] Luc E-W: Order has Order ships. I want Order ships. But Core is hostile to Order
[15:51:23] Luc E-W: would I be justified in contacting Zoners to get me an Osiris?
Same applies to the classic "i found an abandoned valor wreck and I'm going to fix it and SRP it under a hostile ID".

Except that makes more sense than the example you provided.

How would anyone be able to get to a Docking Ring and salvage parts from it? They're not left just floating around in space.
To people who don't know Ageira's lore, your assumptions, guesses and speculations are far away from being on point.
Trade Lanes and Jump Gates are derived from Alien Artifact.
Docking Rings are not related to alien artifact.
They use different technologies. You can't reverse-engineer Jump Gate into Docking Ring. Unless you are magic faction living in guard system and powergaming your way around.
We don't have Cardamine cure, do we? Even Stabiline is just substitution that can be taxed legally.
This is just a good example that is already in practice. People decided to go against established lore, common sense and logic to powergame their way through to convenient endpoint.
Is Durandal preaching it? I hope not. Because that means that we can throw any drop of sense out of the window and do aboslutely anything, anywhere, anyhow, anytime.

Does it have to be Ageira brand Docking Ring blueprints? No. Again. It could be a highly salvaged one, or replicated to the Gallic standard.
You're misreading the word salvage. It has parts. Those parts can be used.

The Ageira and EFL docking rings are the only canon ones established in lore. Ever other one is just a solar, one that should be replaced with something more fitting such as the red crosses. And what do we know of the exact composition of a docking ring once it has been fully constructed? How do we know those parts can be so easily pryed off? How do you even salvage parts from a docking ring that would definitely be under heavy control from it's owner?

Then there is no limits to what can be salvagable. Back to my point:
"anything, anywhere, anyhow, anytime."

As Protege mentioned before, Space Elevators are a concept.
Ageira might, but my point was getting at the actual owner faction. And yes, space elevators are a concept. But they don't need to be represented by FL's docking rings. They could just be represented by the red arrows.
We should really make a new thread with all these docking ring posts.
