Well, the point here was actually Nomads. Those pink Jellys are what most of Freelancers fan remember first. Wildes can be all coolness in the world, but the iconic place still belongs to Nomads, and I believe that only because of this reason they deserve much more love.

As far as it goes, some people want to just fly the nomad caps, I can't blame them I guess, but their restricted and most likely will stay that way. Those nomads that normally want to RP are a rather rarity server side anymore. The main thing I can imagine them not logging for is the lack of equipment, ZOI, allies and just how the ships work. Its the same for most indy ID's in a way, look at SCRA. People won't fly their faction because of restrictions and how bad the ships are (As of right now), same thing for other factions.
The one major bummer I can see for indy nomad players is RP. I won't lie, the lolwuts server side are rather bad these days, and won't think twice before silent engaging a red they see on their scanners without a moment's notice. That just outright kills RP, Core has done it to indy nomads as well, same as Order, Corsairs and others. I'd imagine if it was possible for them to RP, more people would get in on it in a heart beat...but their nomads, Omicrons are dangerous and kill all nomads, that's normally how the table turns and repeats
What kind of selection? and in regards to the ZoI, keeping it to the Omicrons and Omegas could be balanced enough. To be honest though I think it's perfectly understandable that people would want to fly caps on the ID. Omicrons have always been a cap-orientated environment above other ship classes but I guess the Nammu is meant to soothe that itch. Then again a Gunboat isn't the same as a Cruiser/Battleship.
It's a bit of a mistake to use the indie Nomad ID with RP in mind imo. The ID itself is allowed to silently engagement (and according to a green statement Core and Order IDs are allowed to silently engage it as well but I don't think anyone actually does that). The ID is primarily meant to serve as a PvP ID - with those who want the Nomad RP experience to pursue a Morph or K'Hara ID via the appropriate steps. I wouldn't be quick to try and pin any blame on Core for the lack of Nomad activity as indie Nomad activity has never been consistently healthy and I wouldn't blame it on any of the IDs combatants given the nature of the Nomad ID. I do certainly think K'Hara taking a more active interest in it's indies could really help in getting the ID used.
Personally I'd just love to see Nomad players (both officials and indies) organizing some raids so that Core and Noms could have a big pew. The last sizeable pew we had with Nomads was this I believe:
There's also an indy Nomad/Wild E-chat if people are interested in working with others to get stuff organized.
Hurr durr grave dig, whatever. i have unanswered questions and if I made a new thread regarding this, people would say I'm too lazy to search a little. Can't please everyone so screw it.
Now, I have a question. During a conversation on Skype, I remembered myself being cheeky by using trial id on my nomad bomber (obviously in the omicrons only, until K'Hara Cblocked me) and I remember exactly why.
The Nomad indie ID is the crappiest (sorry for the expression but it's the truth) ID out there. Why?
1. No tractor beam. That means if I kill someone with b/Bs, I can't tractor them to refill.
2. Closed for caps except for the nammu, which is not much considering the extremely small zoi for such a closed id.
3. 15 minutes cloak (or less, either way that's when lots of players lost their will for playing a nomad )
To put it easier, the id is so nerfed it's not even funny. I, myself, can't play nomad with that. So I'd like to ask, is there any chance this could be fixed at some point?
Welp, like I once proposed either remove nomad ID completely and make playinf a nomad unique again like old days with only trial ID or give them (like Lyth proposed) cap access, maybe up to Irra.
Or add Sirius wide zoi and remove the cap access, as well as allowing indies to tractor things once again. At least make it fairly playable. It's not like they can do much harm anyway, now that there are cloak disruptors left and right.

Don't forget the nerf the indie ID recieved which was that they can't RP while cloaked anymore. I still don't understand why that was implemented as any other faction can do it, and bringing it back would make the ID a bit more alluring. There wouldn't be any uncloak-instakilling as RP would still remain as a mandatory, but they could do it while cloaked.

Indies like caps. The Nomad ID doesn't - and in my opinion shouldn't - allow for caps.
Activity breeds activity. The K'Hara faction itself isn't really doing a lot in the Omicrons right now which means there's no reason for indies to log in and accompany them.
The only truly viable ships for the Nomad ID are the Adad and the Rabisu. The Rabisu is a bit filthy to fly right now due to messy effects (which will be fixed as soon as the next update hits).
The Omicrons don't feature a lot on non-PvP activity that Nomads could come and disrupt that does occur elsewhere like trading and mining. The resident factions like to spam caps at one another (because, let's be real, that's the most efficient use of numbers currently) and indies aren't usually organized enough to log a large number of Adads to deal with that.
