Yes, I know, file a player request.
I don't want to file an invisible request.
I am not using ff77cc Karst pink. Full serious mode.
With pretty much the entire Core capital fleet in Bastille, this event is over.
I have been involved in this event exclusively on the Zoner side but I still have to say, sending Core caps to Bastille for essentially taking part in this conflict is totally unfair.
Are literally dozens of threads detailing the myriad engagements not enough to adequately define Zoners as "an organization considered hostile by the Core" - which would allow them to be engaged?
I'm not talking about violations like docking on the Freeport after shooting Zoners, or engaging without RP, or anything like that.
I'm talking only about Core ships being bastilled for no other reason than following through with the declaration of hostilities.
"- Can attack lawfuls, unlawfuls, quasi-lawfuls and ships which belong to a house or organisation considered hostile by The Core within their zone of influence."
(from the Core ID)
" Nowhere in your ID does it allow you to attack a Zoner ship[...]"
(from the sanction post)
????????
I freely admit that I stopped asking Core ships to "move out of the NFZ" before shooting them on my Zoner ships, and just the same I completely expect to be shot by Core on my Zoner ships, as I'm sure most everyone else involved would.
Have there been many more rule violations than usual because of this event, and salz brought about by unbalanced fights? Yes, of course.
Is it worth it for something that brought a torrent of activity, huge amounts of roleplay and new interactions between unexpected groups? In my opinion, absolutely. This event has been amazing so far and I'm sure I'm not the only one who's really been enjoying it.
But with the Core fleet gone, it's pretty much over prematurely. I implore you to reconsider this decision.
I also strongly suggest unbanning Lyth for the time being as it's been made almost impossible for the faction to defend itself inrp'ly or oorp'ly.
It would only be logical to unban Lyth, then re-ban him once this blows over.
Like Jack said, that's what Germany does or something.
As it stands, the event is now over (for the Core) unless someone steps up to the oche and makes 10 more shared Makos for the Core. They simply cannot fight now. Look at every single engagement that's transpired so far: every ship that was Bastilled formed the main line of the Core force. WIthout them, they cant fight, it's as simple as that.
Redo all sanctions in Delta then and turn off the rules during the event. Because releasing Core| ships while Zoners still being sanctionated for violations is pretty one sided move. Iirc when some rules during the events aren't working we have some notices of admins or event host.
As someone who also participated in this event solely on the Zoner side I'd also support Karst's request. The event has been a ton of fun, even if some rules were blatantly broken here and there (and not just by the Core) and without Core's participation in it all I doubt there will be any fun, just mindless trading of the flavor of the month money commodity.
Hell, if you people are so adamant on punishing Core, just Bastille them after all this is over. As it stands it's almost all of Sirius jumping on the Zoner train and nearly nobody siding with Core. Core really needs the assets that were removed to actually stand ANY chance at all in all this.
i respect you Karst, but i think this thread is absolutely 100% grade-A ridiculous.
If the much (self-)vaunted Core that Lyth enjoys saying how strong it is with its huge groups that have been appearing, are completely neutered by the Bastille'ing of 5 caps then i seriously have to question how the faction operates, among other things.
why not flood hordes of destroyers or battlecruisers? or are you telling me Core poured everything into only 5 ships to be the main in-game force?
inRP defence? that card flew out the hull breach with the repeated shooting of the freeport itself. ooRP, well thats a whole nother shebang.
As much as the activity is nice, and im sure most agree, if a veritable free pass out of bastille is given for the sake of in-game activity then any admin who would vote in favor of early release would lose all credibility in the eyes of the community.
Sabru, I don't want the Core caps released so that they get their fleet back and can participate in the event again.
That would be a positive consequence of them being released, but not the reason why they should be.
No, I am questioning that rule violations occurred at all in the case of Core engaging Zoners.
Read the ID text. Even if someone makes the frankly ludicrous claim that Zoners are not, at this point, an organisation considered hostile by the Core, their ID still allows them to engage "lawfuls, unlawfuls, quasi-lawfuls [...] within their zone of influence.", which completely covers any engagement of Zoners in the Omicrons.
I am not seeing a violation here based solely on engagement of Zoners that aren't transports with sufficient RP.
Edit: Changed my mind by reading the arguments. While it's a terrible shame with all these ooRP hates, breaking forum rules results in a sanction, and this sanction seems to be actually sanctioning Lyth instead of just making him wait a week and let others in charge post stuff.
Also, true. Core can use some other ships in the meantime.
Anyway, a solution should be found, since this event is great from an inRP standpoint and caused very much activity. Not that this is a pass to ignore rules.

Really now? Do you know how to count? There are only 5 ships sanctioned out of at least 10 battleships which I saw myself in space yesterday and during the other days as well. Stop crying out loud, Core still has plenty of other capital ships , battlecruisers and cruisers aren;t even counted.
As for Karst, are you their new lawyer? How much do they pay you? I kinda need some credits myself. For example yesterday I was planning to re-engage but I changed my mind. Nobody would've made a thread for me in case I was sanctioned so get over it and stop defending others who broke the rules.
Like Jayce said on skype, and by reading some opinions here, this whole thing of discovery vs. core is essentially Oorp hatred. What I'm trying to say karst is despite that I agree with you, I wouldn't expect much from the community.
Lyth needs to be unbanned. The reason people posted for him was because he and his entire faction are under attack (by Literaly the whole community) and no one is willing to help him. So he gets an extended week long ban for defending his faction? That seems unfair to me.
make other caps if that's the only thing you are able to fly,but you can always jump into a fighter/bomber/gunboat/cruiser if you don't have money to buy another mako...
but seriously they broke plenty of rules while filming themself doing so and with that attitude what was it to be expected?
the whole thing could have been made without breaking that many rules in the process instead they just went ahead and shoot everything near the freeport with disregard for their id ,server rules and to the persons who were on the receiving end of their guns(those who were attacked had no clue, atleast some, that they were gonna be destroyed because someone wanted to have fun at the expense of everyone else beside them)
so..no...i don't think the ships should be released but instead be deleted because that should have never gonna happen from an official faction
People want to believe that God has a plan for them.
They don't wanna believe that anyone else does..
