My main character Scornstar does not work anymore. I can play any character and get on now but. My main gripe free character crashes my computer when ever I log on to Scornstar. DOesnt happen with other characters on same account.
I know He was in a Albatross battle criuser but, had a Battle ship license. Could this have something to do with it?
did you get the license back? if so, would you know if its mounted? maybe that, because ure in sapce (are u?), and dont have the license mounted the game is crashing.
if that is the cse, i think the only way you could play is maybe ask an admin for a beam to a base, so u can mount the id, and continue playing....

No, as in backed up with FAM. And there's a way to do it manually, anyways, go look at Korrd's FAM thread, there should be instructions on how to manually back up your accounts there.

Thanks I'll give it a shot but this seems to be getting over my head. I'm not very computer literate.
If you do not want to use FAM, go to your Freelancer folder in Micosoft Games in Program Files in your computer, then to the EXE folder inside it. There should be a program called Myaccoundid.exe or something along those lines. Open it and it will give you your account ID. Copy it down somewhere or save it on your comp. When you install Freelancer again and it generates a new acount ID for you, enter the one you saved or wrote down instead and you will have your characters.
1. Microsoft Games/Freelancer/EXE folder
2. Myaccountid.exe
3. Copy down ID
4. Install Freelancer again
5. Put in ID
6. Play!
Actually, FLAM is even easier to use, and makes it easy to run piles of characters.
1. Download FLAM.
2. Install FLAM.
3. Run FLAM. It will recognize your current ID, and ask if you want to save it. Click yes.
4. Reinstall Freelancer.
5. Go to multiplayer in Freelancer. It will make you a new account. Quit Freelancer after it puts you in server screen.
6. Run FLAM. Add the new one you got, then switch back to the other one by double clicking on it.
7. Run Freelancer.
8. Hand me 3 credits once you get back in game. Price of information and all that.
