Technical difficulties

Hi, starting, i'm a total newb.

not here for that, what i am here for is, my technical difficulties.

I've heard there's a system next to leeds or near that called New castle, when i entered it, it said ???? on it and then when i scanned the ships and planet and stations, it didn't give any info. Just says Neutral and their health and shields.

this isn't the only problem, I literally can't read any text at all! I can read people speaking and when i hit info or scan, it comes up with Descriptions, but that's all. The rest is all, scrunched up or messed up. I'm assuming i have a bad video card for the second thing, but whats up with the first? Same thing?

If i posted this in the wrong area, sorry, it's just very annoying and makes the game very very hard to enjoy.

I've got another post to make, but i'd like this issue solved first and if anyone can help, i'd be very gratefull.

Two things I would say to do:

1) Deactivate, then reactivate the mod.

Still no?

2) RE-download the mod and and activate it.

Just change the shortcut target to:

One other thing, for the Bases/Ships/Planets that are dockable, to have more in the info than just Attitude and some small stuff, you have to dock at it first, then you get the prices and other stuff.

You've got a problem with XML encoding and possibly fonts. You should reintall the game and setup XML utilities that come with Freelancer. What OS are you using?

my operating system is windows ME and i'm using an imbedded Graphics cards. So i should uninstall the whole game reinstall and then Redownload everything?

Ok, i reinstalled everything, redownloaded it, had a friend send me the mod, activated and deactivated and i'm still having the problem.

So i assume it has something to do with my operating system or vid card right?
