Combining 2 images but keeping the alpha background

i need two images turned into one but i want to keep the transparent background, since i have no idea how to do this and i'm too lazy to find out, could one of you do it for me or explain how to? google did not suffice

it's for a lore post, so it needs to look like this(it MUST be a size within forum rules and must not make forum posts go over the sidebar, so 728 width is what I went with)

You do realize that you have already sorted your problem?

Take a screen shot of this page, load it into a graphics package, just about anything will do, place a 'frame' around it, choose 'cut' from the editing menu and it *should* cut the area inside the frame out.

Then choose, 'paste as new image' and there you go, job done.

i could do that but the thing is we want it to have an alpha background so it can be used on other images as well
