I want to say a few words to you, the first being a thank you for not shooting as soon as you see an unidentified Osiris uncloaked in front of you.
That leads me to have a few questions in my mind after today, something that shows the grip in the Order... weakening. The Grand Admiral always had a tight hold on his agents, and a defection or desertion often ended in Capital Execution. I am not the first to have escaped the Order, and it appears I will certainly not be the last, after spotting certain ex-agents in Liberty recently, and discovering your cirumstance today.
You have gained a neutral understanding with Auxesia as the captain of an Order Recon Cruiser, and you expressed quite clearly your discontent within the Order...
I think we may have some mutual ground here, and I'm interested to learn more.
Horus, correct? Go figure. We never lost the Razgriz, but it sure as hell isn't the same ship it was before. Those people never cease to impress and frighten me with their resourcefulness.
I've been being investigated unofficially for six years due to insubordinate behavior and questionable methods. Capital Execution was always an option, but lately that just hasn't been available to them, since they left us high and dry with one quarter of the fleet while the other three quarters were down in the Independent Worlds getting roughed up and hijacked by your new friends. Guess I'll hear the story of how an Osiris was somehow lost to Liberty and wound up in their enemies hands soon enough.
Like I told you today, you're lucky it was me who found you. My first officer remains loyal to the Order down to the letter. If he were in command, that situation would've gone differently, but luckily for you he was off duty in his bunk. The real issue I have with today is that I had an Order vessel open fire on us while we were doing our duty in a vain attempt to shut us down against a Tokugawa. The suspicion by them seems to have reached the point where they're attempting to make our disposal look like an accident, so we've departed from Protectorate space fourteen hours early for our current objective.
But - we were being sabotaged the whole way.
Someone on board doesn't want us to go the way we intend to. They're trying to delay us, likely for another attempt on the Kebechet. I won't lie, the Order has been good to me, but I lost my family on Toledo because of the Overwatch occupying themselves with the Core instead of the rising Nomad presence in the area. Go figure when they go off to rescue the Admiral's mommy because he can't make the hard decisions he's so fond of preaching about, we nearly get hit when a Purifier slips right past our defenses while we were doing testing. I submitted a formal security report with suggested improvements that seems to have been ignored.
Probably because while reviewing it, I ended up getting my ass saved by your leader.
So, what else could we possibly have to talk about?
So, looks like my name is rather infamous despite how much of it was erased...
You're correct, Ex-Captain Tantalus of the... now Redacted Horus Battalion. I can only imagine whats been going on with Horus since I left... and if it's even still around and kicking... But, you seem to be in a rather interesting situation, and I agree with the troubles you've been going through in your own home space.
Admirals like Jeremy Hunter used to take piss poor to a whole lower level... I was blown out of my mind when he called the Razgriz down to Coronado along with many other warships for his mother, because he needed her. I don't like to top people in their times of stress, but Hunter was supposed to be the man who takes everything with a level head and keep the Order going, and he suddenly calls nearly the entire war machine down for a single search and rescue... it was ludicrous.
Nonetheless, it seems like trust is an issue in the ranks of the Order nowadays... i'm surprised your own wingman turned on you in Omicron Mu, and the repercussions that can have... looks like you certainly have to make a choice soon Saris. But you've got Auxesia with you right now, since we are on a neutral standing.
But, answer this for me if you can get back to me... How is LaValle doing? I want to know if she perhaps 'dissapeared' since it looks like Horus went under as well with my departure... I feel like the Grand Admiral erased every trace of me from the Order's existence, all the way back to 809 A.S. when I first joined... But I still want to know how the person I left Horus to is doing, and if theres no trace of her... then what the hell happened to Horus and all that was invested in it?
Whatever happened to your people is above my clearance, and I have a feeling that if I attempt to remotely access the data from the Kebechet they'll trace it and have even more of a reason to go after us, especially given the circumstances of your departure and our current predicament. Giving away our holding pattern now would put us at risk before we've even devised a way out of this scenario. That isn't a risk I'm willing to take, so you'll have to forgive me for not being so eager to answer your questions.
As for your Battalion, looks like its been wiped clean, or at least seemed that way while we were there. That doesn't matter anymore. The past is the past and the only direction we can move now is forward, because going backwards - for either of us - plays right in to their arms, and that's checkmate. Capital execution might be what you're looking for, but I've still got some fight left in me and I'm not going to give them the satisfaction of killing me on camera like some example to be made to the people who don't blindly follow every god damn word that spews our of their arrogant asses.
Whatever move I make still doesn't generate a lot of support from my subordinates, and there's no doubt that whoever is hitting our systems isn't acting alone. No doubt we haven't seen the last of this saboteur, and frankly it could be something to play in our favor. I haven't been giving them very much attention, but that's liable to change once I get in touch with your boss.
