More than fishy. It makes you a nasty person to attack someone playing an unlawful for no other reason than 'because they are unlawful'. That isn't fun for them, now is it? Unlawfuls in Sirius have their RP behind them, some more money grubbing than others but they all have a cause, more or less. Getting that ripped up for 4 hours because you made your character blanket hate all unlawfuls is decidedly un-fun. Don't do it.

Bounty hunters might firstly hunt becouse of money, but becouse their activity
on incessant hunting only unlawfulls noone of pirates trusted or like them.
Eventually pirates found out that they are serious threat to their pirate activity.
So trust me they wouldn't just wait for another attacks. Attack is best defend.
Pirates start attacking bounty hunters. And also bounty hunters started to attack
back not becouse earining but becouse of own existence.
That is why if you check NPC rep list pirates are full enemy to bounty hunters.
Everything has a reason and that is reason why they are enemy of pirates,
not periodicaly but fully. Bounty hunters aren't Mercenaries.

If you ask me it would be stupid to have bounty hunters id and merc id if bounty hunter
would be just normal merc on lawfull side. Why we don't then have id for mercenarie
on unlawful side? That would make sense.
Incorrect Camera Reporter. Read practically every single bounty hunter rumour and infocard, they all state that they are essentially mercenaries and assassins for lawful organisations. They don't attack pirates for fun or for necessity, they attack them for money provided by House Militaries (for assistance) and corporations (for bounties).
Also, some infocards state that the Bounty Hunters even (discreetly) promote pirate activity, so they get more money.
Hampering LPI operations (to lock up criminals) so they can cash in from more kills:
We're pretty sure there's a Rogue base in the Whitney Field, but the higher ups say that's a Bounty Hunter problem. We should just find it and clear out the nest. My guess is that Bounty Hunters are paying off the LPI execs back in Houston. They don't want the criminal population to be reduced too much. Bad for business.

This is a silly point, as all lawful mercenaries aren't Bounty Hunter Guild members. The mercenary id works for both lawfuls and unlawfuls, and your reputation with other factions is determined on in-game actions, not the name of your ID. That is the case in the Bounty Hunters Guild, you automatically would be unfriendly with unlawfuls.
Doesn't mean you should kill them on sight or anything, attack bountied or in self defense. It's simple, not pvp-whorish and perfectly in-character
Yeah I know that is exactly why I stress that...... Mercenarie can work on both sides agreed, but why we have bounty hunter id then at all if as merc
can do same job as bounty hunter and more (at least at start)? Why don't we limit guys who mainly take bountys on lawfuls too and make special id for them?
Anyway I was wondering.... who then would be able to have access to all around Sirius sector as lawful so that there would exist reasonable balance to pirates like corsairs that can go anywhere? Also 1 more question. If you are BH can you be sure that pirates won't attack you on sign as default?
Pirates can't go anywhere, Corsairs don't have much of a presence in the Taus, Kusari, Liberty and some parts of Rheinland...
Outcasts, according to another handy infocard, aren't "anywhere south of Buffalo Base". So no Rheinland, Omegas and parts of Bretonnia.
The other factions are heavily restricted to their respective house + some border worlds.
Edit: the thing is, all the pirates are not allied with each other to blow up all the lawfuls. Unlawful factions help to keep each other in check, as many of them are blood enemies, rivals or worse.

No, you cannot be sure that pirates will not attack you, if you are BH. Some pirates attack on sight just to be on the safe side, others will just keep an eye on you or ask why you are flying in their space, followed by an engagement if they are unsatisfied with your answer.

True true, but even houses are fighting each other. Well at least on paper. Bretonia and Kusari for example. And houses can work only in their systems. So who would visit Malta or Crete from lawfuls that they would be at least a little bit threated? My guess is noone or only few. On the other hand pirates can attack in hearth of bretonia liberty rheiland kusari right?
Megiddo that is exactly my point. Bounty hunters cannot attack pirates if they don't have bounty on them but pirates can attack bounty hunters
if they want to. So if you as bounty hunter take bounty on pirate you can be sure every time you will see him he will attack you, but if you will be
threated by pirate you as bh will not be able to attack him just like that. Also there exist scenario that pirate attack you in first place
becouse he feel threated. And when bounty hunter next time meet him he must not attack him even if he feel threated by him. Very fair huh!?

Pirates attack bounty hunters because they are afraid of being attacked. In character, that could be explained as they are afraid of having a bounty on their head.
You could say it is a form of self-defense. While Bounty Hunters actively seek pirates (either for credits or pvp fun >_>), pirates usually don't actively seek Bounty Hunters. They have bigger fish to fry, and attacking a bounty hunter just makes the pirate group more enemies.
Why does it seem so threatening for bounty hunters to be *gosh* somewhat restricted in attacking guidelines? They have one of the largest zones of influence, a full shipline of some great ships (Battleship, Bomber, Hammerhead, Gunship), great weapons, and according to some people's illogical reasoning, the ability to hunt unlawfuls anywhere. Incidently, they are one of the most common factions, from my personal experience, to contain pvp (only)-minded individuals.
I have a Bounty Hunter as well, in case people are wondering. I attack players only if I witness them doing something illegal, IE attacking a LPI officer in front of me, or if they have a bounty on their head. It's still fun, as you get to roleplay more instead of just attacking unlawfuls for your own pvp-fun.
I understaind the ones who has bounty on their head. That is totaly differently but it is also possible that they find some others reasons to kill you?
