I've just installed Win 10 and I'm trying to get Discovery working.
When you try to run the .exe it says it needs to update the launcher first, but every time I try, the the update progress bar on the launcher gets about half way then it just stops and doesn't go any further, so it doesn't update.
I've tried cancelling the task and trying again and it basically does the same thing. It might not even get half way, before it just jams and you have to end task it.
No, I've tried running as admin, same problem. I don't think it's firewall either, as I've disabled all of mine. I'm guessing it's some compatibility issue with win 10?
Check your Internet - if it isn't perfectly connected (eg. packet loss etc.) it happens to not be able to update.
Happened to me once - I fixed my net and updated perfectly.
Ok, I got it to finally update properly. But now it still doesn't want to run though. The launcher starts but now says no account in registry and when you click on "launch" the cursor loads for a few seconds but then nothing happens. I tried created an account in the launcher but didn't help.
I got FL working now and I played it last night fine. However, today when I try to log onto multiplayer, the server list isn't loading. It just keeps saying "connecting to global server...". Anyone know what could be causing the problem?
admin rights must be forced on the exe's and you probably need the global server workaround: http://www.flserver.de/
make sure to follow the instructions before installing. makes sure both FL vanilla and disco mod are installed with admin rights. in case you are not sure. uninstall both. clean your registry, reboot and reinstall them both as admin. then use the workaround.. and make sure to run vanilla fl 1 time and start a new game and actually launch into space so the mod works right.
then, get Empyrion Galactic Survival and play that for the rest of the year.
