Well, I want to buy it. But I am new and have not enough experience to decide, so asking for help here.
What are the weaknesses? Is it THE BEST Battleship ever? Why not?
There are currently 3 or 4 selling on marketplace, why would people sell them?
Also, please, opinions on the loadouts that are for sale, which is for what, how well done is it?
Whatever you guys can help, I am very grateful!
It is the tankiest human battleship, yes. The Orange Treaty however significantly lowers its operational area, as it - lore-wise - forbids to use maltese capitals against Liberty. So the most people using the Ranseur are either lolwuts that head into the Nomicrons or to challenge the Corsairs. Or to simply give an eff about the Orange Treaty and move to New York, attack Liberty and getting FR5'd with Rochester because people go there to log off and flee from Liberty.
As for the loadout, a tank is usually bad at strafing and thus you want to take advantage of your superior hull. Take a short-range loadout, the Cerbs should be cool. If you want to strafe with the big Ranseur, you should stay in the distance and fire heavy mortars, possibly combined with a Battleship Missile. However, that would be a waste of its short-range advantage against other capitals.

Thanks for the reply, Sombra, but what do you mean not allowed to engage Liberty? Few days ago this very battleship had battle (and lost) with like 5 LN in Pensy, I watched it. Is it against server rules, or what does it mean? Can you point me to where can I read about that?
It's not against server rules to bring the Ransuer into Liberty, no, but if you do, there may be a chance your fellow Rogues and Lane Hackers will turn on you for bringing it there. However, it is doubtful. Liberty Rogues doesn't have an official faction and the Lane Hackers, well, I don't know.
It is just a roleplay thing. The major unlawful groups have agreed on Outcasts not bringing capital ships, cruiser and battleships to Liberty, because that is Lane Hacker territory. It does not need to be followed by you, but you could have Lane Hackers, who are normally your allies as Outcasts, shoot you for violating the treaty.

Ok, I see, thank you very much! I will think about that, but still want to buy the ship.
Hoping for more opinions about the questions I asked...
The Ranseur has good stats, yes. What it also is is big, so it is almost impossible to dodge enemy fire. It can tank a lot of damage and also deal a lot, but forget about dodging. If you are in systems with asteroids, prepare for a long time using /Stuck to maneuver.
In Freelancer, the best things a ship can be is usually a combination of two things: Quick and small. If you can't be hit, it doesn't matter that you can't deal as much damage as your opponent, because you can just deal your damage longer than he can survive. That does not mean the Ranseur is useless. If you manage to get up close to an opponent, chances are you can simply overwhelm an enemy capital ship with firepower and your hull. Add a bit of skill at flying capitals and knowledge about where the weak spots of the caps you're facing are, and you can kill a lot of things. You need a snub to keep capitals from cruising away from you, however.
The Ranseur is weak from behind and below. Two of its heavy slots are at the front of the ship, and two on top of the midsection. If you are below the Ranseur, only the front two can shoot downwards. If you are behind it, only the two heavies on the midsection can bit you. That is pretty much all there is to know about the Ranseur.
EDIT: Loadout:
Try using one heavy mortar, two cerberus turrets, full primaries, rest secondaries/solaris and one flak turret on the last turret slot. You need flak turrets to shoot nova torps with.

But are other battleships able to dodge fire? like dodge how, with strafe, etc?

*mischeif laughing*
The only issue that I've had with a ranseur is that the heavy guns are focused to aim in front of you, if people fly behind you and shoot you there, you got a problem with your main firepower

Do not other battleships share this problem? Are there others that can fire main guns backwards?
