Slaver Liner

Why is it the only liner without a CM slot? Just seems weird, considering its hefty price tag, not to mention it's usually used in illegal activities, making it quite vulnerable.

I don't see why I have a CM on my Upholder. I can evade the damn missiles pretty well without the launcher. I don't even own a CM launcher. If I need to, I can fire my weapons at the missile and make it go boom early.

Yup; CM's are essentially useless now in a ship of that size unless you have a very unskilled or unlucky player shooting them at you.

The only thing it's effective for is the wonderful cruise disruptor. That's all I would have a use for, but I don't have a CD fired at me often enough to warrant a CM launcher. Now, if we could thrust while charging cruise, I'd say "screw the CM, it's useless for anyone!"

in RP reason:

the junker grimiced as he tried to restore the ships hull integrity. it was an old ship,about three hundred and fourty years old. it surprised him that it still was in orbit around the sun here in omega 15.

as he moved to compleate the last weld on the hull panel he was patching the hull with, he noticed a bump in the way.
"wazzis?" he muttered to himself.

it appeared to be a countermeasure launcher.

"Damned thing couldent be working after so long." he reassured himself before turning the knob on his welding torch to full power, and begining to remove the useless device.

months later, while in a drydock, he realized that the hull wouldent be able to support any more holes punched through for wiring, so a counter measure device was out of the question.
" 's not like i really need one... i mean, who stops drug shipments nowadays?"

OORP: the ship is balanced without it. and of course, it is one of two liners useable for piracy, and the only one that can be used without any questionable RP.
