After roughly 15 minutes, Nicole stood up, heading back into the kitchen to check on their dinner. After a brief inspection of the rack, she pulled them out, and set them down. While portioning them out, she managed to catch her hand on the pan the ribs were resting in, letting out a light, barely audible groan of pain. "Damn it.." She continued going about preparing the dishes, enjoying her cooking but the light burn slightly bothering her.
Huh..? Oh uh, yea, just about.." She quickly tried to take care of her hand before either of them managed to notice. She quickly wrapped her hand up after applying a soothing cream then finished portioning them out. "Alright, they're ready." She shouted back, being careful with her bandaged left hand.
He looked over, catching a glimpse of the bandage. He stood up, hastily pacing towards her and taking two of the plates. "Hold up.. I gotcha.." He left her with the last plate, taking the first two back out to the sofa and setting them on the table infront. "The hell'd you do to your hand, hon?"
"Nothing really, you don't need to worry about it, dear." She took her seat, rubbing it a bit, the pain was mostly absent, but it still stung. "Eat up Linsday, I've got some ice cream for desert." She leaned back on the couch, resting for a few moments before getting her food.
"Yea.. it hurt, and will again later when this cream stops working.. but I'll be fine." Nicole began eating hers as well, although managing to keep herself cleaner than the two, but eating equally as fast, enjoying the meal. "Glad you two like them, it's a family recipe for the sauce, wasn't sure you'd really like it."
"Part of me really wants to make a mess right here.." He chuckled, smiling as they ate and watched their movie. "Should I kiss it better?" He only chuckled more.
"You like your messes, don't you?" Nicole giggled, looking over the two. Having commonly eaten them, she knew how to keep mostly clean. "If it worked like that, you'd never let me go, would you? My hand will be fine.. eventually."
