A military woman in both heart and apparel, Hayashimura holds high regard to formal clothing, uniforms, and their protocols. She maintains the almost-typical look of a military woman, keeping her hair's length according to military protocols, her always clean military uniform clean of any spots or wrinkles. She possesses a commanding presence, standing at a hundred and seventy-nine centimeters, wearing an always calm and collected expression on her face, her sharp looking eyes and expressions being some of her striking features, also indicating a sign of general indifference. She maintains an athletic and relatively muscular body compared to her bretheren, often working out and keeping herself fit.
Personality:
She is a complex person, serious, calculating, seeing and planning for the future, a long-sighted person. While she may seem lackadaisical, she does care deeply about her men and women, making sure she performs with the least casualties possible. Despite being an eloquent and charismatic speaker, she often finds difficulties communicating diplomatically with other personnel or parties, showing a violent behavior at times which may put her and the people around her at risk; mainly due to her long difficult service outside of Kusari in the Edge Nebula, where diplomacy is the least favorable language in the region. Kiyoko conducts herself in a relatively professional manner, always speaking in a very polite fashion to her superiors, and harshly to her subordinates. Her cool demeanor contrasts with her more lively associates, giving her an air of elegance. However, when spending time outside of work with her friends and close ones, she shows a more relaxed and cheerful personality. Being born in Kitakyushu on Planet Kyushu, she retains a strong native Kitakyushu dialect that is sometimes replaced by clipped words from the formal accent spoken for the purpose of formalities.
Biography:
Kiyoko Hayashimura was born on the 10th of October 793 A.S in Kitakyushu, Planet Kyushu. Her father, Tetsuya, who was previously a fisherman on Planet Honshu immigrated with his wife, Akira, to Kyushu two years prior to the birth of their twin children, taking the rice farming industry as a replacement for fishing due to the instability of their former business.
Alongside with her twin sibling, they enlisted to one of the local schools in Kitakyushu. Both of the siblings had no desire to be the successors in their parents' business of rice farming, and so they built up a determination to succeed in their education in order to pursue more influential and prosperous fields.
The twelve-year-old daughter developed an intense curiosity about the endless void of the cosmos, its mysteries, and especially in its dark, sinister corners. She also took an intrigue on the Nomads, learning about them through what was made public after the War. Her craving for further knowledge did not come to a stop with the school's education programme, causing her to spend a multitude of hours, days, weeks and months on the neural net, surfing through its innumerable pools of information regarding Sirius and it's countless oddities, her interest only expanding with each new bit of data.
She wasn't satisfied with theories and simple lectures, though. Her adventurous self, listened to the powerful call of the unknown, almost persuading her to become an explorer of sorts, so she could come to her own conclusions based on what she learned back home. And yet, something felt off. Even with all the adventure-craving in the world, she couldn't simply grab her things and go. Throughout the years, she formed a deep patriotic connection with her country, these feelings urging her to take up arms with the Empire's Naval Forces. Thus, she wasted no time, enlisting in the Academy in Hiroshima at the age of seventeen. She underwent numerous training programs, ranging from hand to hand combat to advanced space warfare. She proved to be adequate, capable and responsible. Despite her lack of skills and talent in space engagement, she graduated with decent grades as part of the 93rd training division for the year 813 A.S. By that time, a war between Kusari and Bretonia had lit up between both houses over bilateral arguments regarding territorial claims over the Tau-29 and Tau-31 systems.
The brand-new fledgling was soon dispatched to the front, assisting the Naval Forces in their offensive against the Bretonians in Tau-31, where the Naval Forces were gaining the upper hand in the clash but their efforts were mired at planet Harris. Being deployed into a war zone right after concluding training was a rough thing for Hayashimura to withstand, the flowing mixture of feelings after slaying her first enemy was confusing, vexing, and ominous simultaneously. But indifference overshadowed guilt and sympathy through the rapid and unending clashes that she endured. She was designated to supply duty in the logistics corps after the Naval Forces surprise attack in Leeds which resulted in the capture and occupation of Glasgow station and Stokes Mining Facility in the northern region of the system. Her commission was straightforward; conveying supplies from Kusari home space to the theater of operations in Leeds. It was the appropriate shift from the heavy action into something less bleak.
During one of her supply drops to Leeds, she witnessed a large number of unknown forces that were swarming through Tau-31, the flock of vessels of what is now known as the Royal Navy of Gallia. These ships were ravaging almost every vessel they came across, steamrolling through the system ruthlessly. Communications with the Kusarian patrols that were spread across the Tau-31 system were lost rapidly as the Gallic forces invaded the system. She had to arbitrate between two options she was forced to take. Either head to Leeds and support the forces there who were accompanied by the Emperor himself or make a run for it back into Kusari. Between the glory of battle followed by potential death and an oblivious ending or survival prior to loathsome regret and agony. Her vision and judgment were clouded by fear and anxiety. In the end, returning back to home was the optimal choice to make.
The Kusarian remnants were stranded away from the rest of forces, alone against the Gallic onslaught. Allying themselves with the Bretonian forces against their new mutual enemy Gallia. This, however, was brought to light in the Kusarian government and had raised a lot of eyebrows in the republic. The Emperor alongside the rest of the remnants that were trapped in Leeds were exiled. Hayashimura did not know what to make of this, instead of sending relief forces, the remnants were exiled and given no aid. And soon after Kusari was made a republic, replacing the ruling body of the government through a coup d'etat led by the top echelon of the Naval Forces a clear act of treason. She was not in favor of the latest actions taken by the Naval Forces primarily, but she did not want to cloud her judgment, thus she gave things more time to settle. Eventually, she found reason in the Naval Forces action against the Empire and accepted it.
The Republic also took the newly emerging House, Gallia, as a friend after being obliterated by their forces. Kiyoko speculated that the Gauls would take Kusari as a puppet, yet she just accepted it with no gratification. There was no time for arguing, with the creation of the Republic and the Gallic push the Naval Forces grew severely weak, which allowed pirates and criminals to operate freely in Kusari. Kyushu turned chaotic and the Naval Forces did their best to keep everything under control, she had no hesitation to help as she was deployed back to the Kyushu system.
However, she grew fond of the Republic rapidly; understanding its concepts and beliefs, and how the republic saved Kusari from a catastrophic disaster that the empire had brought upon. Soon she became a true republican, holdin tight to the republican standards, eventually known in the Naval Forces for her hardcore republican view.
Kusari also had a lot of concerns in the Tohoku system, the Nomad intrusions in the system, the Blood Dragons and the mass infection of the former 113th expedition wing in the system. Battleship Sado was relocated to the entrance of Hiroshima in Tohoku accompanied by a new dispatch of pilots, Kiyoko was reassigned there to fight off the previous threats. It was one way to fulfill her dreams to know more about the nomads, but the dangerous and risky way. Not what was in mind.
Shortly after her assignment, she was taken notice of by the 66th commanders; finding opportunity and possible capabilities in the lieutenant commander. She was by then transferred to the division, participating actively in 66th operations in the edge nebula - the far Omicrons.
Hayashimura went through her career with a good number of events behind her. She was, to say the least, rather surprised that she survived this long, and apparently, word of her achievements found their way to the top of Naval Forces, to the Admiralty Board. The circle assigned her to the 66th 'Tokubetsu ensei-ka', the Special Expeditionary Division as the commanding officer.
After serving for a good long year as the captain of the division in the Omicrons and occasionally being called back to the homefront to assist against imperial incursions, she was promoted to Rear Admiral, finally earning that place she worked hard for. Several years she has served in the division, witnessed deaths and horrors, and on the other hand, successes. Her unusual line of service did have an impact on her personality; she became less sensitive and more aggressive and violent. That put her in a tough spot, rendering her difficult to communicate with, and often finding herself in a position where she can neither understand individuals nor can they do so in return. She became isolated.
Vacation; I never expected to be this fun. Spending all of my career with nothing but short leaves to visit my family on Kyushu- which I can't now, for obvious reason. Well.. most of my savings are going for this vacation, It should be worth it.
Anyway, I started from New Tokyo with my newly-bought Marauder, I had it delivered here from some base in the Sigmas, that's where most of my money was spent. I flew towards Rheinland, the people are great and space is gorgeous. Initially, I planned to spend my vacation on some luxurious resort on Baden Baden, have some relaxing time, away from all the trouble in space. Demo, I've always wanted to explore regions I've never been to yet, that's like my before-you-die wish. So I continued flying from Rheinland to Liberty, it's a nice place, but I still prefer Rheinland over it.
I met my first acquaintances there, who later became my travel buddies; Karin Walker, and a Forlorn pilot, Mason Coleman. Both are interesting, and fun to fly with. I couldn't keep myself from talking military ith them for the first while, I guess I'm too used to it. We flew around a few systems, Karin-san introduced me to Coronado; home of the self-righteous Crayterians, and hub of whatever illegal activities Barrier Gate Station harbors. The system made me uncomfortable. Ehh. I guess a military woman as myself wouldn't fit in such places anyway. Anyway, we flew off to the Taus afterward, spent the night of Freeport 10 before carrying on our journey the next day.
Eventually, we flew through Seto to Bretonia; I had flashbacks, recalled memories of the battles I've fought, and the time I spent in that system during the Seto War. The Gauls have already made put their own technology into use in the system, they've brought their own tradelane tech here, as well as their station modules. Seto was tragic; ravage by the continuous wars waged there, and the one now by Gallia. Debris fields and wrecks filled the place, I even got the chance to see the wreck of the Oubli, I've only read and watched reports about it. I guess there's still hope for the Bretonia and Liberty after all.
Anyhow, We carried on our journey through Bretonia and the system called Omega-49; all I knew about the system is that Gran Canaria within, I've only seen pictures and videos of it on the Neural-Net. Beautiful is the least I can say about it, the marvelous landscapes are on a different tier than Curacao. It was paradise. We saw fit to make a pit-stop on the planet, I was longing for some drinks anyway. The planet's surface was even more alluring, exquisite, and fascinating. I was dazzled. It was so cold, though. Cold. Ehh.. I had some drinks, got drunk. I remember playing some dice games for some stupid bets, bets that one would only do if drunk. I woke up with a headache, and I don't really feel very well. I have to go check on my Marauder, had to leave it for emergency maintenance, even though it's only been in space for a few days. If I was scammed if, someone is going to pay badly for it.
I wonder how things are going back in Kusari for the Naval Forces, for Nagumo and Sakamoto-kaisho, and for the 66th. Going on a vacation like this and at a time like this.. I feel like I'm abandoning them, I feel like a scum. Sighs. But I guess I earned, didn't I? This is my first time-off in like forever, I deserve some time for myself, don't I? I think. At least the Imperials and Yukiyama can enjoy some time without me pestering them.
Freeport 11 captured an interesting place in Omicron Delta, overlooking the sun in the system as well as various spacescapes making it a decent place for adventurous tourists, or so it used to be. However, the station itself was weary, ravaged by the multiple assaults it witnessed. The outer hull still possessed markings and scars of such attacks, the repair ships outside working relentlessly to bring the station back to what it was. That state reflected on the interior of it, leaving the interior in certain places mildly unattended.
Yamada was sitting in the bar, having found an empty table for himself. Sipping from some ale, he was waiting for that Kusarian woman to arrive. Now that he thought about it, he had no idea how he would recognize her. He was wearing a rather old spacesuit that didn't fit him all too well and his hair was quite a mess, having grown quite a bit along with the beard now covering his face.
The awaited woman didn't take long to show up; soon, Kiyoko would enter the bar, stopping at the exit as she took a look around, spotting Yamada at the table he occupied. She moved towards him, taking a seat at the other end of the table. Gomennasai, I'm late. she nodded slightly with a faint smile. In contrary to his, she as wearing a new well-cared, perfectly fit green suit. While Yamada didn't know her, she knew very well. Not personally, but she was well acquainted with his dossier, having spent a lot of time searching for him and other colleagues of his in the past. She was filled with excitement, keeping it caged within her, however, not risking to blow her identity right away and get away empty-handed from this meeting. She raised her hand in the air slightly, signaling a waiter. What would you like to drink then, mister Yamada- was it? she asked him, making it sound like she doesn't know already, maintaining a constant smile on her face.
He narrowed his eyes as he looked at her, just observing her for a few moments. Yamada indeed. I'll be fine with simple ale. Leaning back in his chair, he didn't say much more, instead trying to place her, wondering what kind of allegiance she might have. Your name is Hayashimura then? I really thought you would have just run off and followed your friends. Didn't think you'd turn up here after all. She nodded as she looked back to the waiter Ale for two. she glanced back at him, resting her elbows on the table, and her chin on the back of her hands. Kiyoko. Kiyoko Hayashimura she replied, wearing a smile on her face. I did. That's why I placed an hour and a half of time prior to our meeting here. She continued smiling, almost in a creepy and discomforting way. But, you seem like an interesting person, not to mention that you're also a Kusarian. Why would I waste a chance to familiarize with and meet a person such as yourself?
I could think of a thousand reason for not familiarizing yourself with me. He simply said as he looked at her, slightly irritated by her constant smiling. You said you had an offer for a job, that's what I'm most interested in.Perhaps I do. she replied as she moved her hands down, resting them on the table in front of her. But as your possible future employer, I need to know more about you and your capabilities. she took a pause Do I not have the right? she asked, her tone indicating mild annoyance. That solely depends on what you're going to ask me. I don't need to discuss my private life with my employer. He said, crossing his arms while he looked at her. If you need proof that I'm a good pilot I can take you on a mock fight. She chuckled slightly as she shook her head I'm not a highly skilled pilot, and I'll presume that you're one. she replied as she paused, glancing at the waiter arriving with their ordered drinks. She kept smiling faintly as she looked at him, waiting for the waiter to leave. Give me a quick breakthrough about yourself. Yamada took the ale from the waiter and quickly took a sip, leaning back and sighing. I'm from Kusari. Was there all my life. Worked as a fighter pilot until I got shot down and now I'm trying my luck here. Kiyoko paused for a moment, rubbing her neck slightly before looking back at him So I'll assume you were in either the State Police or the Naval Forces. she grabbed the drink in her hand, slowly rotating it within it Were you discharged or was it just not fit for? she asked him, already knowing that he would either give her a vague answer or a dishonest response. but she kept faking it for the time being. I don't see one would leave after getting shot down and heads to the Omicrons out of all places. she paused as she glanced at his worn down suit, and messed up hair. Especially if they look in such a dire state as yours. she smirked mischievously before taking a sip. He narrowed his eyes and now frowned slightly, becoming suspicious of this woman who assumed so many things. I'm sure these things don't matter to you. He said quietly, taking another sip. I'd prefer to not talk about such personal things. She took a sip from her drink before placing it on the table, leaning back on the chair afterward thinking to herself. Is it time? I'm not getting any more out of him at this rate.
Perhaps they do, Yamada-san. Your personal things matter a lot for me. Why? Her eyes narrowed as she leaned forward again, her discomforting smile disappearing from her face. Her slightly cheerful tone now changing to a rather cold and a serious one. She meant business. Dead people don't talk, Nito Kaisa Yamada Shouzo she replied as she referred to him by the Naval Forces rank he used to retain, possibly blowing her cover in the process. In surprise, his eyes widened as she said that and he quickly put his ale down, slowly leaning back in his seat. For quite a few seconds, he was simply staring at her, wondering what she knew about him. Hayashimura Kiyoko. What do you know about me? He then simply asked quietly, fixing his eyes on hers. She shrugs, casually taking another sip as she finishes her drink. I know enough. she replied, taking a pause as she stared at him for a moment. Enough to put the Tokkeitai on your tail. She continued as she gave him an intimidating look.
He slowly exhaled and sipped on his drink while he thought about it. What do you expect to gain from threatening me? Do you think that's smart? I'll be long gone before the Tokkeitai shows up. She laughed briefly as she leaned on the table before canceling it, staring at him. I'm not stupid, Yamada. I wouldn't confront you if I wouldn't be able to contain you. she replied, his words struck nothing into her. Run, and I'll stop you. Resist, and I'll shoot you. she said, threatening him. Right. You still haven't said anything about what your goal here is. He continued staring at her, not moving at all now. If you found me here then I must assume you're Tokkeitai as well. But don't expect me to just go along with you. I'll fight you if I have to. She shook her head Yare yare.. Sighing as she crossed her arms, her head shaking slightly Tokkeitai? You're joking right? she shrugged Talking with you like this right now would probably put the Tokkeitai on my ass as well. So no, I'm not with the Tokkeitai. she paused and stared at him for a second I'm the head of the 66th, Naval Forces. Yamada raised his eyebrows as he looked at her and then shook his head. Hayashimura... He said quietly, apparently thinking hard about something. Name sounds somewhat familiar, but I can't remember.. And you're here for what exactly..? She smiled faintly Originally? Nothing. I was on a vacation until the end of the month. Finding you here was an.. unexpected surprise. she paused as her smile widened A pleasant one, nonetheless. she replied before leaning forward again, interested in hearing his answer to her following question What happened in Kumo no Ami? she asked him, wearing a curious remark on her face, apparently very interested in this subject.
Pleasant, really? He sighed quietly and didn't answer her question for a while. The mission was mostly a success, the nomad structure was destroyed... He then said quietly, looking out of the window. And? she was clearly not satisfied by his answer We already know about that, Yamada-san. she slams her hands on the table slightly, getting mildly disturbed What happened exactly? Yamada stared out of the window, not really reacting to her agitation We didn't make it out.. He said quietly. She sighs deeply, shaking her head slightly And how did you get here exactly? she leaned forward, more agitated and frustrated by his vague response I don't really need to punch the details out of you, do I? She sighed Oh, you're welcome to try. He turned his head back to her and frowned at her. I'd rather have the KNF believe I'm dead. And sometimes I think it would be better if it really was that way. She chuckled slightly ironically Sure... sure.. she paused as she leaned back again I can make that happen, keep them believing that you're dead, and make you earn some more cash. But.. she raised her index finger You'll have to tell me the details and work for me as well. she smirked mischievously. I have no reason to trust you. I have no reason to work for you. He crossed his arms and kept frowning at her. Your motives are unclear. And even if you told everyone where I am, they still wouldn't find me. he replied with no care for her words. They won't have to find you if I bring you in myself. crackling sound could be heard beneath the table as she pulls out a gun and points it towards him, keeping it hidden under the table. Don't even think about running or resisting. You might outskill me in space combat, but I wouldn't say the same in close quarters. she frowned, still maintaining eye contact with her sharp looking eyes. Her body build clearly indicating that she wasn't lying. He looked at her with disbelief for a few seconds before shaking his head. You're going to shoot me right here? In a bar? Yeah right. He frowned again, not very impressed by that. That's just a bluff, Hayashimura. Do it if you really have the guts for it.
Hayashimura let out a sudden grin as she pushed her ale glass off the table, Yamada could sense a change in air pressure between his feet, as a bullet impacted with the floor beneath him, ricocheting to the wall next to them afterwards; the sound hidden by the crackling sound produced by the shattering noise from the glass as it hit the ground - which a waiter soon came to clean up. A very quiet muffled sound came from the pistol's silencer as it escapes it. Hayashimura kept an indifferent look, only resting her chin on her other hand The next one might just hit you in the groin. She smiled casually. You're a freaking lunatic. Yamada simply stared into her eyes, disliking her more with every second. There's nothing to talk about that mission! They're all dead! Why won't you leave me alone with that shit?! He replied in anger, his fingers gripping the edge of the table. Keep that voice of yours down. she asked as she stared at him The faster you give me the details I need, the faster you can be done with it. she continued as she kept her finger on the trigger for any sudden moves. How did you get out of the system? she asked, resuming her interrogation. You're asking pointless questions. He said between clenched teeth, still frowning at her. I got shot down there. Someone has picked up my pod and I woke up again in a Freeport med bay. She looked at him with a disinterested expression So you were shot down by a system dominated by Nomads, and your pod was recovered from that system. she sighs as she rests her chin on the palm of her hand I'm not convinced. You could be infected for all I care. she replied as she gestured with her hand to him. Yes, it's perfectly reasonable to think that. And that's why I'm not going back to Kusari. He leaned back into his seat and simply sipped on his drink.
That's not it, unfortunately for you. she raised her index finger If you truly are infected, I'm afraid I'll have to end your suffering. she continued as she toyed with her gun beneath the table. Prove to me otherwise, Yamada. Yeah? And how do you think I should do that?! He yelled at her, putting his bottle of ale down on the table hard, almost shattering it. Shoot me if you dare, can't make things much worse than they are already. She stared at him briefly before sighing quietly, she pulled her gun away and put it behind her back, trusting her instincts. She leaned forward, putting both of her arms on the table. Look. I'll help you. All I need from you is to tell what exactly you saw there and how you ended up here. She paused Trust me. she looked at him, taking a more friendly approach now. Yeah right. Trust the woman who just pointed a gun at you for no reason. He shook his head. There's nothing to tell about that mission. We all died there. Can't you just accept that? She shook her head You don't have much of a choice really. she paused Don't talk to me in riddles and mysteries, Yamada-san.
He simply shrugged as he looked at her. I survived, but I don't know for what purpose. So, I'm still waiting for that job offer of you, but you've said nothing about that. She sighed as she leaned back, letting go of her attempt to know more about what happened as he's not very keen on going into details. I'll be staying outside of Kusari for a few more days, and you're going to escort me, for now. she paused I'll also have another thing for you, but I'll leave it for some other time. she continued swapping her hair behind her ear And what will I get for doing that? He asked, having his arms crossed. You're talking as if I've already accepted working for you. She looked at him Credits. She gazed, once again, at his torn and old outfit and his messed up hair. I'm quite sure you're in need of some right now. she paused as she stared at him, crossing her arms Unless there's another compensation you have in mind. He sighed as he looked at her There's nothing else you could offer. I'm fine with credits as long as they are proportional to the amount of work I'll have to do. I'll take half of the amount now, the rest when I'm done escorting you. She kept staring at him for a while longer before looking away at her communicator she took it out. Her fingers tapping on it for a short period before putting it away Half of the payment has been relayed, I hope that's enough for you. she looked back at him with an artificial smile Very well. I'll make sure to get ready then. Are you staying here for some rest or will we depart immediately. He responded, not bothering to check his own device. Kiyoko stood up as she threw some credits towards him for the drinks, with some extra Give me a call first thing tomorrow morning. she replied as she walked towards the exit. If you say so. He replied and grabbed the credits, putting them into his pockets. Don't expect me too early though.. He mumbled quietly and watched her leave.
A wide mischievous grin occupied her face as she got out, tapping on her communicator a few times a she turn off a recorderer. Yamada Shouzou. she swapped the communicator back into her suit's pocket before moving away again I'll make you dead, no worries about that.
